མིག་ཤེས་ཀྱི་དམིགས་རྐྱེན་བྱེད་པའི་རིགས་སུ་གནས་པས་རབ་ཏུ་ཕྱེ་བའི་གཟུགས་སུ་དམིགས་པ། གཟུགས་ཀྱི་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་ཀྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: That observed as form distinguished by abiding in the class of acting as the observed-object condition of the eye-consciousness.

When extensively divided, there are twenty: རྒྱས་པར་དབྱེ་ན་ཉི་ཤུ་ཡོད་དེ།

• Twelve colours ཁ་དོག་གི་གཟུགས་བཅུ་གཉིས།
• Eight shapes དབྱིབས་ཀྱི་གཟུགས་བརྒྱད་ཡོད་པའི་ཕྱིར།

Among those twenty, there are three possibilities: ཉི་ཤུ་པོ་དེ་ལ་ཡང་མུ་གསུམ་ཡོད་དེ།

• Those that are exclusively colour ཁ་དོག་ཁོ་ན་ཡིན་པ།
  i.e. blue, yellow, red, white, shadow, sunlight, illumination, and darkness
  སྔོན་པོ་དང་སེར་པོ་དང༌། དམར་པོ་དང༌། དཀར་པོ་དང༌། གྲིབ་མ་དང༌། ཉི་མ་དང༌། སྣང་བ་དང༌། མུན་པ་ཞེས་བྱ་བའོ།
• Those that are exclusively shapes དབྱིབས་ཁོ་ན་ཡིན་པ།
  i.e. the class of long and so forth whose nature is revealing [forms] of the body
  རིང་པོ་ལས་སོགས་པའི་ཕྱོགས་ལུས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པར་རིག་བྱེད་ཀྱི་ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་དོ།
• Those that are both གཉིས་ཀ་ཡིན་པ།
  i.e. the remaining form-sources གཟུགས་ཀྱི་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་ལྷག་མའོ།

མིག་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཡུལ་དུ་གྱུར་པའི་གཟུགས་དེ་གཟུགས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་གཙོ་བོ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། སྤྱི་མིང་བྱེ་བྲག་ལ་བཏགས་སོ།
Since forms that are the objects of eye-consciousnesses are the main of all physical things (form-possessors), it is a case of giving the name of the category to the instance.
