Non-virtue
ལུང་དུ་བསྟན་པ་ཡང་ཡིན། རྣམ་སྨིན་ནག་པའི་རིགས་སུ་གནས་པས་རབ་ཏུ་ཕྱེ་བ་ཡང་ཡིན་པའི་གཞི་མཐུན་པར་དམིགས་པ། མི་དགེ་བའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: That observed as the common locus of:
- Being specified in scripture; and
- Being distinguished by abiding in the class of black fruitions.
Divisions: དབྱེ་ན།
- Ultimate non-virtue དོན་དམ་པའི་མི་དགེ་བ།
e.g. samsara (designated as non-virtue) འཁོར་བ་ལྟ་བུ་སྟེ། འདི་མི་དགེ་བ་བཏགས་པ་བ་ཡིན། - Natural non-virtue ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་མི་དགེ་བ།
e.g. anger ཁོང་ཁྲོ་ལྟ་བུ། - Concomitant non-virtue མཚུངས་ལྡན་གྱི་མི་དགེ་བ།
e.g. mental factors concomitant with that དེ་དང་མཚུངས་ལྡན་གྱི་སེམས་བྱུང་ལྟ་བུ། - Motivated non-virtue ཀུན་སློང་གི་མི་དགེ་བ།
e.g. bodily and verbal karma motivated by those དེས་ཀུན་ནས་བསླངས་པའི་ལུས་ངག་གི་ལས་ལྟ་བུ།

འཁོར་བ་ཆོས་ཅན། དོན་དམ་པར་མི་དགེ་བ་ཡིན་ཏེ། སྡུག་བསྔལ་གྱིས་བཅིངས་པས་མཆོག་ཏུ་མི་བདེ་བའི་ཕྱིར། ནད་བཞིན།
The subject - samsara - it is ultimate non-virtue because due to being bound by suffering, it is supreme unhappiness.
For example: Sickness.
མི་དགེ་བའི་རྩ་བ་གསུམ་དང་ངོ་ཚ་མེད་པ་དང་ཁྲེལ་མེད་ཆོས་ཅན། ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་མི་དགེ་བ་ཡིན་ཏེ། གཞན་ལ་མ་ལྟོས་པར་བདག་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་མི་དགེ་བ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
མི་འཕྲོད་པའི་སྨན་བཞིན།
The subject - the three root non-virtues, non-shame, and non-embarrassment - they are natural non-virtue because they are naturally non-virtue without depending upon other.
For example: Unsuitable medicine.
དེ་དག་དང་མཚུངས་ལྡན་གྱི་སེམས་སེམས་བྱུང་རྣམས་ཆོས་ཅན། མཚུངས་ལྡན་གྱིས་མི་དགེ་བ་ཡིན་ཏེ། མཚུངས་ལྡན་མི་དགེ་བས་མི་དགེ་བར་བཞག་པའི་ཕྱིར།
མི་འཕྲོད་པའི་སྨན་དང་སྦྱར་བའི་བཏུང་བ་བཞིན།
The subject - minds and mental factors concomitant with those - they are concomitant non-virtues because they are posited as non-virtue due to their non-virtuous concomitants.
For example: Drink combined with unsuitable medicine.
དེ་དག་གིས་ཀུན་ནས་བསླངས་པའི་ལུས་ངག་གི་ལས་ཆོས་ཅན། ཀུན་སློང་གིས་མི་དགེ་བ་ཡིན་ཏེ། ཀུན་སློང་མི་དགེ་བས་མི་དགེ་བར་བཞག་པའི་ཕྱིར།
མི་འཕྲོད་པའི་སྨན་དང་སྦྱར་བའི་བཏུང་བ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་འོ་མ་བཞིན་ནོ།
The subject - actions of body and speech motivated by those - they are motivated non-virtue because they are posited as non-virtue due to their non-virtuous motivation.
For example: Milk made from drink combined with unsuitable medicine.
