The five faculties

དབང་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཐུན་མོང་མ་ཡིན་པའི་བདག་རྐྱེན་བྱེད་པའི་རིགས་སུ་གནས་པས་རབ་ཏུ་ཕྱེ་བའི་ནང་གི་གཟུགས་ཅན་དང་བར་དམིགས་པ།
དབང་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་པའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of physical faculty: That observed as a clear inner form distinguished by abiding in the class of acting as the uncommon empowering condition of the sense-consciousnesses.

རིགས་གནས་སྨོས་པ་ལ་དགོས་པ་ཡོད་དེ། དེ་མཚུངས་ཀྱི་དབང་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་ལྟ་བུ་སྡུད་པར་བྱེད་པའི་ཆེད་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
There is a purpose in stating "abiding in the class of": It is in order to include the physical faculty similitudes.

དབྱེ་ན། མིག་གི་དབང་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་པ་ནས། ལུས་ཀྱི་དེའི་བར་ལྔ།
Divisions: Five from the eye-physical-faculty and up to the body-

Eye-faculty མིག་གི་དབང་པོ།
Ear-faculty རྣ་བའི་དབང་པོ།
Nose-faculty སྣའི་དབང་པོ།
Tongue-faculty ལྕེའི་དབང་པོ།
Body-faculty ལུས་ཀྱི་དབང་པོ།

དབྱེ་ན། རེ་རེ་ལ་རྟེན་བཅས་དང་དེ་མཚུངས་ཀྱི་རེ་རེ་སྟེ་གཉིས་གཉིས་ཡོད།
Divisions: Each of those have two subdivisions:

Supporting
i.e. The physical faculties that are acting as the support of consciousness
རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་དེའི་རྟེན་བྱེད་པའི་དབང་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་རྣམས།
Concomitant
i.e. The physical faculties in the continuum of a person during deep sleep
གཉིད་འཐུག་པོ་ལོག་བཞིན་པའི་གང་ཟག་གི་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་དབང་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་རྣམས།
