Tongue-faculty

ལྕེའི་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པའི་ཐུན་མོང་མ་ཡིན་པའི་བདག་རྐྱེན་བྱེད་པའི་རིགས་སུ་གནས་པས་རབ་ཏུ་ཕྱེ་བའི་ནང་གི་གཟུགས་ཅན་དང་བར་དམིགས་པ།
ལྕེའི་དབང་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་པའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: That observed as a clear inner form distinguished by abiding in the class of acting as the uncommon empowering condition of the tongue-consciousness.

ལྕེའི་དབང་པོ་ནི་དབང་རྟེན་གྱི་དབུས་ན་དབྱིབས་ཟླ་གམ་དབུས་སྐྲ་རྩེ་ཙམ་གྱིས་མ་ཕྲད་པ།
དེ་ཕྲད་ན་ཀླང་རྒྱས་རྒྱུན་དུ་འཇག་པའི་ཕྱིར། ཞེས་སློབ་དཔོན་སའི་རྩ་ལག་གསུང༌། ངོ་བོ་རོའི་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་སྣང་བའི་ཤིན་ཏུ་དང་བ་གཅིག་ཡོད།
The tongue-faculty exists in the middle of the faculty-support, its shape is a half-moon whose middle does not meet by a mere hair's width (Acārya Pṛthivībandhu says that if it were to meet, then saliva would flow continuously), and its nature is a very clear [form] for the appearance of taste-sources.

ལྕེ། མྱོང་བྱེད། རོ་འཛིན་སོགས་མིང་གི་རྣམ་གྲངས་སུ་གསུངས་སོ།
Tongue, taster, taste-catcher, and so forth are synonyms.
