Boundaries of the three compassions

བདག་མེད་ཕྲ་རགས་གང་ཡང་མ་རྟོགས་པའི་གང་ཟག་གི་རྒྱུད་ལ་སྙིང་རྗེ་དང་པོ་ཁོ་ན་ཡོད། ཕྱི་མ་གཉིས་མེད།
In the continuum of a person who has not realised coarse or subtle selflessness:

• Only the first compassion exists;
• The latter two do not exist.

བདག་མེད་རགས་པ་རྟོགས། ཕྲ་མོ་མ་རྟོགས་པའི་གང་ཟག་གི་རྒྱུད་ལ་སྙིང་རྗེ་དང་པོ་གཉིས་ཡོད་ཀྱང་། སྙིང་རྗེ་གསུམ་པ་མེད།
In the continuum of a person who has realised coarse selflessness but not subtle selflessness:

• The first two compassions exist;
• The third does not exist.

བདག་མེད་ཕྲ་མོ་རྟོགས་པའི་ལམ་མ་ཞུགས་ནས་ས་བཅུའི་བར་དུ་སྙིང་རྗེ་གསུམ་ག་ཡོད།
All three compassions exist from before entering the path (upon realising subtle selflessness) and up to the tenth ground.

སྙིང་རྗེ་ཕྱི་མ་གཉིས་ལམ་མ་ཞུགས་ནས་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་སའི་བར་ན་ཡོད།
The latter two compassions exist from before entering the path and up to Buddha-ground.
