Cittamatra presentation and proofs of the Alaya (LTK)

དམིགས་ཡུལ་གཟུགས་སྒྲ་དྲི་རོ་རེག་བྱ་སྟེ་དོན་ལྔ། མིག་རྣ་བ་སྣ་ལྕེ་ལུས་ཀྱི་དབང་པོ་ལྔའི་སེམས་ཅན་དང༌།
བདག་དང་ཆོས་ཀུན་བཏགས་པའི་ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་ལ་མངོན་པར་ཞེན་པའི་བག་ཆགས་དང་གསུམ་ལ་དམིགས།
Observed-objects:

• The five object: forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tangible-objects;
• The five sense-faculties: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body ("mind-possessors"); as well as
• The imprints of strong conception to the thoroughly imputed natures of self and phenomena.

རྣམ་པ་སྣོད་བཅུད་དེ་དག་སྣང་ཡང་རང་གིས་ཀྱང་མི་ངེས་ལ་རྗེས་སུ་ངེས་པ་ཡང་འདྲེན་མི་ནུས་པ།
Aspect: Although those containers and contained appear, they are not ascertained by it not is it able to induce later ascertainment.

Nature: ངོ་བོ་

• Unobscured and neutral (not indicated in scripture) མ་བསྒྲིབས་ལ་ལུང་དུ་མ་བསྟན་ཅིང༌།
• Concomitant with only five mental factors as its retinue: feeling, discrimination, intention, contact, and attention. འཁོར་ཚོར་བ། འདུ་ཤེས། སེམས་པ། རེག་པ། ཡིད་ལ་བྱེད་པ་སྟེ་སེམས་བྱུང་ལྔ་ཁོ་ན་དང་མཚུངས་པར་ལྡན་པའོ།

Eight great reasonings proving the existence of the Alaya:

If the Alaya does not exist: ཀུན་གཞི་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་མེད་ན།

1. Appropriating a body is impossible ལུས་ཉེ་བར་ལེན་པ་མི་སྲིད་པ་དང་།
2. Beginningless arising is impossible གཟོད་མ་འབྱུང་བ་མི་སྲིད་པ་དང་།
3. Clear arising is impossible གསལ་བར་འབྱུང་བ་མི་སྲིད་པ་དང་།
4. Seeds are impossible ས་བོན་ཉིད་མི་སྲིད་པ་དང་།
5. Actions are impossible ལས་མི་སྲིད་པ་དང་།
6. Bodily experience is impossible ལུས་ཀྱི་མྱོང་བ་མི་སྲིད་པ་དང་།
7. Absorptions without mind are impossible སེམས་མེད་པའི་སྙོམས་པར་འཇུག་པ་མི་སྲིད་པ་དང་།
8. Death-transference of the consciousness is impossible རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་འཆི་འཕོ་བ་མི་སྲིད་པ།
