Compassion observing phenomena

སེམས་ཅན་མི་རྟག་པར་ཚད་མས་གྲུབ་ཟིན་པའི་གང་ཟག་གི་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་སྙིང་རྗེ་གང་ཞིག
མི་རྟག་པས་ཁྱད་པར་དུ་བྱས་པའི་སེམས་ཅན་ལ་དམིགས་ནས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་བྲལ་བར་འདོད་པའི་རྣམ་པ་ཅན་གྱི་བློ། ཆོས་ལ་དམིགས་པའི་སྙིང་རྗེའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of compassion observing phenomena: That which is:

1. A compassion in the continuum of a person who has already established through valid cognition that sentient beings are impermanent; and
2. An awareness that observes sentient beings qualified by impermanence and wishes that they are separated from suffering.

གང་ཟག་གི་གདགས་གཞི་གཟུགས་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཕུང་པོ་ལ་ཆོས་ཞེས་བྱ་ལ། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ཕུང་སོགས་ཀྱི་ཆོས་ཙམ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་བཏགས་པའི་སེམས་ཅན་ལ་དམིགས་པ་ལ་བཏགས་པ་ཞེས་སོགས་བར་གྱི་ཚིག་མི་མངོན་པར་བྱས་ནས། ཆོས་ལ་དམིགས་པའི་སྙིད་རྗེ་ཞེས་བརྗོད།
Etymology: The aggregates (form and so forth) that are the person's basis of designation are referred to as "phenomena". That observing sentient beings that are designated in dependence upon mere phenomena (the aggregates and so forth) is referred to as "compassion observing phenomena" through omitting the middle words such as "designated" and so forth.

སྙིད་རྗེ་གཉིས་པ་རྒྱུ་ལྡན་གྱི་གང་ཟག་དེས་སེམས་ཅན་ཕུང་སོགས་ཀྱི་ཆོས་ཙམ་ལ་བཏགས་པར་ངེས་ནུས་པའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་ཡོད་དེ།
སྙིང་རྗེ་གཉིས་པ་རྒྱུད་ལྡན་གྱི་གང་ཟག་དེས་སེམས་ཅན་མི་རྟག་པར་ཚད་མས་ངེས་པ་གང་ཞིག སེམས་ཅན་མི་རྟག་པར་ངེས་པ་ན།
རྟག་གཅིག་རང་དབང་ཅན་གྱི་སེམས་ཅན་མེད་པར་ངེས་ནུས། དེ་ངེས་པ་ན་དེ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་ཕུང་པོ་ལས་ངོ་བོ་ཐ་དད་པའི་སེམས་ཅན་མེད་པར་ངེས་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་
སེམས་ཅན་ཕུང་སོགས་ཀྱི་ཆོས་ཙམ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་བཏགས་པར་ཁོང་དུ་ཆུད་ནུས་པའི་ཕྱིར།
There is a reason the person possessing the second compassion in their continuum is able to ascertain sentient being to be designated upon mere phenomena (the aggregates and so forth): Because:

1. The person possessing the second compassion in their continuum has ascertained through valid cognition that sentient beings are impermanent; and
2. When sentient beings are ascertained to be impermanent, then one is able to ascertain the non-existence of permanent, unitary, independent sentient beings; when that is ascertained, then by way of ascertaining the non-existence of sentient beings that are a different entity from the aggregates in dependence upon that, one is able to understand that sentient beings are designated in dependence upon mere phenomena (the aggregates and so forth).
