Indicating that all afflictions have been exhausted (Gomde)

ས་བརྒྱད་པ་ལ་གནས་པའིེ་བྱང་སེམས་དེ་ཆོས་ཅན། ཉོན་མོངས་པའི་དྲི་མ་དེ་དག་རྩ་བ་སྟེ་ས་བོན་དང་བཅས་པ་ཉེ་བར་ཞི་བ་ཐོབ་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ།
རྣམ་པར་མི་རྟོག་པའིེ་ཡེ་ཤེས་ལ་དབང་ཐོབ་པའིེ་བྱང་སེམས་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The subject - the bodhisattva abiding on the eighth ground - they have attained complete pacification of the stains of the afflictions together with their roots (i.e. seeds) because of being a bodhisattva that has attained mastery in non-conceptual exalted wisdom.

ཁྱབ་སྟེ། ཆགས་པ་མེད་པའི་བློ་རྣམ་པར་མི་རྟོག་པ་ལ་དབང་ཐོབ་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ནི། ཆགས་སོགས་ཀྱི་སྐྱོན་དེ་དག་རྣམས་དང་རྒྱུད་ལ་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཏུ་མི་གནས་པའི་ཕྱིར།
There is pervasion because the exalted wisdom that has attained mastery over non-conceptuality, i.e. an awareness without attachment, cannot simultaneously abide in the continuum together with the faults of attachment and so forth.

བྱས་པ་ལ་ཁོ་ན་རེ། བྱང་སེམས་ས་བརྒྱད་པ་ཆོས་ཅན། ལམ་ལ་འབད་པ་དོན་མེད་པར་ཐལ། ཉོན་མོངས་ཟད་པའི་ཐེག་ཆེན་པ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན།
Someone says: The subject - the eighth ground bodhisattva - it follows that it is meaningless for them to strive in the path because of being a Mahayanist that has exhausted the afflictions.

བྱང་སེམས་དེ་ཆོས་ཅན། ཉོན་མོངས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཟད་ཅིང་ས་གསུམ་སྟེ་ཁམས་གསུམ་གྱི་བླ་མར་གྱུར་ཀྱང་། ལམ་ལ་འབད་དགོས་ཏེ།
དེ་ལྟར་ཡིན་ཀྱང་ལམ་ལ་མ་འབད་ན་སངས་རྒྱས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ནི་ཡོན་ཏན་གྱི་འབྱོར་པ་ནམ་མཁའ་ལྟར་མཐའ་དང་བྲལ་བ་མ་ལུས་པ་འཐོབ་པར་ནུས་པ་མ་ཡིན་པས་
དེ་ཐོབ་ཕྱིར་དུ་ལམ་ལ་བརྩོན་དགོས་པའི་ཕྱིར།
Response: The subject - that bodhisattva - despite having exhausted all afflictions and having become unsurpassed in the three levels (i.e. the three realms), they must strive in the path because despite those, if they do not strive in the path, then they will not be able to attain the space-like, limitless, wealth of the Buddhas' qualities and therefore, in order to attain those, they must put effort in the path.

ལུགས་འདིར་ཉོན་མོངས་མཐའ་དག་སྤངས་ནས་ཤེས་སྒྲིབ་སྤོང་བའི་འགོ་རྩོམ་པའི་ཤེས་བྱེད་ཀྱང་འདི་ཡིན་ནོ།
This is also a source for this system [positing that] abandonment of knowledge obscurations begins upon having abandoned all afflictions.
