Presentations of Arya Bodhisattva grounds

སྙིང་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ་དང་སྟོང་ཉིད་མངོན་སུམ་དུ་རྟོགས་པའི་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱིས་ཟིན་པའི་བྱང་འཕགས་ཀྱི་མངོན་རྟོགས། བྱང་འཕགས་ཀྱི་སའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of an Arya Bodhisattva ground: An Arya Bodhisattva's clear realisation conjoined with great compassion and the wisdom directly realising emptiness.

སྙིང་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ་སོགས་ཐབས་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན་གྱིས་ཟིན་པའི་བྱང་འཕགས་ཀྱི་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་སྟོང་ཉིད་མངོན་སུམ་དུ་རྟོགས་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས། བྱང་སེམས་ཀྱི་དོན་དམ་པའི་སའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of an ultimate Bodhisattva ground: An exalted wisdom directly realising emptiness in the continuum of an Arya Bodhisattva and conjoined with special method (i.e. great compassion and so forth).

1. Very Joyful རབ་ཏུ་དགའ་བ། / Generosity སྦྱིན་པ།
2. Stainless དྲི་མ་མེད་པ། / Ethics ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས།
3. Illuminating འོད་བྱེད་པ། / Patience བཟོད་པ།
4. Radiant འོད་འཕྲོ་བ། / Joyous Effort བརྩོན་འགྲུས།
5. Difficult to Overcome སྦྱང་དཀའ་བ། / Concentration བསམ་གཏན།
6. Manifest མངོན་དུ་གྱུར་པ། / Wisdom ཤེས་རབ།
7. Gone Afar རིང་དུ་སོང་བ། / Method ཐབས།
8. Immovable མི་གཡོ་བ། / Power སྟོབས།
9. Good Intelligence ལེགས་པའི་བློ་གྲོས། / Prayer སྨོན་ལམ།
10. Dharma Cloud ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྤྲིན། / Exalted Wisdom ཡེ་ཤེས།

Mode of distinguishing the grounds: འབྱེད་ཚུལ།

1. Increase in the number of qualities ཡོན་ཏན་གྱི་གྲངས་འཕེལ་བའི་ཁྱད་པར།
   Attaining twelve sets of one-hundred qualities on the first ground, twelve sets of one-thousand on the second, and so forth ས་དང་པོར་ཡོན་ཏན་བརྒྱ་ཕྲག་བཅུ་གཉིས། ས་གཉིས་པར་ཡོན་ཏན་སྟོང་ཕྲག་བཅུ་གཉིས་སོགས་ཐོབ་པ།
2. Difference in excellent powers མཐུ་ཕུལ་དུ་བྱུང་བའི་ཁྱད་པར།
   Gradually increasing the force of purifying the stains of the respective grounds and the force of progressing on the path ས་སོ་སོའི་སྐབས་ཀྱི་དྲི་མ་སྦྱོང་བའི་སྟོབས་དང་། ལམ་བགྲོད་པའི་སྟོབས་གོང་ནས་གོང་དུ་འཕེལ་བ།
3. By way of surpassing perfections ཕར་ཕྱིན་ལྷག་ཚུལ་གྱི་ཁྱད་པར།
   From the surpassing practice of the perfection of generosity on the first ground and up to the surpassing practice of the perfection of exalted wisdom on the tenth ground
   ས་དང་པོར་སྦྱིན་པའི་ཕར་ཕྱིན་གྱི་ཉམས་ལེན་ལྷག་པ་ནས། བཅུ་པར་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཕར་ཕྱིན་གྱི་ཉམས་ལེན་ཆེས་ལྷག་པ།
4. By way of taking taking fruitional births རྣམ་སྨིན་གྱི་སྐྱེ་བ་འཛིན་ཚུལ་གྱི་ཁྱད་པར།
   From the Bodhisattva abiding on the first ground taking birth as a Wheel-Turning King with dominion over Jambudvipa and up to the Bodhisattva abiding on the tenth ground taking birth as the king of the pure abodes ས་དང་པོ་ལ་གནས་པའི་བྱང་སེམས་དེས་འཛམ་བུ་གླིང་ལ་དབང་བའི་འཁོར་ལོས་སྒྱུར་རྒྱལ་དུ་སྐྱེ་བ་ལེན་པ་ནས།
   ས་བཅུ་པ་ལ་གནས་པའི་བྱང་སེམས་དེས་གནས་གཙང་མའི་རྒྱལ་པོར་སྐྱེ་བ་ལེན་པ།

བྱང་སེམས་ས་དང་པོ་བ་ཆོས་ཅན། ཁྱོད་ལ་རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་ཞུགས་པ་འཕགས་པ་བརྒྱད་པ་དང་འདྲ་བར་སྟོན་པའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་ཡོད་དེ།
རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་ཞུགས་པ་དེས་རང་གི་འཕགས་ཆོས་ཐོབ་པ་ལས་སྤངས་པ་དང་རྟོགས་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་འབྱུང་བ་བཞིན་དུ།
ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ས་དང་པོ་ཐོབ་པ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་ས་དང་པོའི་སྐྱོན་ཟད་ཅིང། ཡོན་ཏན་རྣམ་འབྱུང་བར་འགྱུར་བས་དེ་ལྟར་བརྗོད་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The subject - the first-grounder Bodhisattva - there is a reason for indicating them to be similar to the Eighth Arya (i.e. Approacher to Stream-Enterer) because:

• Just as the Approacher to Stream-Enterer gives rise to the qualities of abandonment and realisation through their attainment of Arya Dharma,
• They also will eliminate the faults and give rise to the qualities of the first ground in dependence upon the attainment of the first ground.
