Root Verses

།ཉན་ཐོས་སངས་རྒྱས་འབྲིང་རྣམས་ཐུབ་དབང་སྐྱེས། །སངས་རྒྱས་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་ལས་འཁྲུངས་ཤིང་།
།སྙིང་རྗེའི་སེམས་དང་གཉིས་སུ་མེད་བློ་དང་། །བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་ནི་རྒྱལ་སྲས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་རྒྱུ།
Hearers and Middling Buddhas are born from the Kings of Subduers;
Buddhas are born from Bodhisattvas;
The mind of compassion, non-dual awareness,
And the mind of enlightenment are the causes of the children of the Conqueror. [1.1]

།གང་ཕྱིར་བརྩེ་ཉིད་རྒྱལ་བའི་ལོ་ཐོག་ཕུན་ཚོགས་འདིའི། །ས་བོན་དང་ནི་སྤེལ་ལ་ཆུར་འདྲ་ཡུན་རིང་དུ།
།ལོངས་སྤྱོད་གནས་ལ་སྨིན་པ་ལྟ་བུར་འདོད་གྱུར་པ། །དེ་ཕྱིར་བདག་གིས་ཐོག་མར་སྙིང་རྗེ་བསྟོད་པར་བགྱི།
Since compassion itself is asserted to be like the seed
Of a Conqueror’s marvellous harvest, the water for its growth,
And the ripening in a state of long-term enjoyment,
For that reason, in the beginning I will praise compassion. [1.2]

First mind generation སེམས་བསྐྱེད་པ་དང་པོ།
Second mind generation སེམས་བསྐྱེད་གཉིས་པ།
Third mind generation སེམས་བསྐྱེད་གསུམ་པ།
Fourth and Fifth mind generations སེམས་བསྐྱེད་བཞི་པ་དང་ལྔ་པ།
Sixth mind generation སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དྲུག་པ།
Seventh to Tenth mind generations སེམས་བསྐྱེད་བདུན་པ་ནས་བཅུ་པའི་བར།
