Ten Great Prayers of Bodhisattvas (JS)
འདིར་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོའི་བསྔོ་བ་སྨོས་པའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་ཡོད་དེ། ས་བཅུ་པ་ལས། སྨོན་ལམ་ཆེན་པོ་བཅུ་ལ་སོགས་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་འབུམ་ཕྲག་གྲངས་མེད་པ་བཅུ་ས་དང་པོ་བས་འདེབས་པར་གསུངས་པ་དེ་རྣམས་རྒྱལ་སྲས་ཀུན་བཟང་གི་སྨོན་ལམ་བཟང་སྤྱོད་དུ་འདུ་བར་ཤེས་ཆེད་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
In this context (v1.5a), there is a reasoning for mentioning the dedications of Samantabhadra: The Sutra on the Ten Grounds states that the first grounder makes ten countless hundred-thousands of prayers, such as the ten great prayers and so forth; so it is in order for it to be understood that those are all included within the Prayer of Samantabhadra.
The ten great prayers are: སྨོན་ལམ་ཆེན་པོ་བཅུ་ཡོད་དེ། ་་་་རྒྱུན་མི་འཆད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་ཆེན་པོ་རྣམས་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
- To make offerings and serve all the Conquerors དང་པོ་རྒྱལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་མཆོད་པ་དང་རིམ་གྲོའི་དང་།
- To uphold the holy dharma of all the Conquerors གཉིས་པ་རྒྱལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལས་དམ་ཆོས་བཟུང་བའི་དང་།
- To be near to all the Buddhas གསུམ་པ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་གམ་དུ་འགྲོ་བའི་དང་།
- To practice all the practices of the Conqueror Children བཞི་པ་རྒྱལ་སྲས་ཀྱི་སྤྱོད་དོ་ཅོག་ཐམས་ཅད་སྒྲུབ་པའི་དང་།
- To ripen all sentient beings ལྔ་པ་སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་སྨིན་པར་མཛད་པའི་དང་།
- To enter all the vast world-systems that are coarse and subtle, whether they are oppressive, expansive, and so forth དྲུག་པ་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་ཁམས་རྒྱས་པ་ཕྲ་རགས་སྤྱིའུ་ཚུགས་པ་དང་ཡངས་པ་སོགས་ཡོད་དོ་ཅོག་ཏུ་འཇུག་པའི་དང།
- To purify all Buddha-fields བདུན་པ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཞིང་ཐམས་ཅད་སྦྱོང་བའི་དང་།
- To enter the Mahayana in all practices བརྒྱད་པ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་ཐེག་པ་ཆེན་པོར་འཛུད་པའི་དང་།
- That all activities are meaningful དགུ་པ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་དོན་ཡོད་པའི་དང་།
- To accomplish the Mahayana in perfect complete enlightenment
བཅུ་པ་མངོན་པར་རྫོགས་པར་བྱང་ཆུབ་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་ཐེག་པ་ཆེན་པོ་མངོན་པར་སྒྲུབ་པ།
སྨོན་ལམ་ཆེན་པོ་ཡིན་ཏེ། སེམས་ཅན་དང་འཇིག་རྟེན་དང་། ནམ་མཁའ་དང་མྱང་འདས་དང་། སངས་རྒྱས་འབྱུང་བ་དང་། སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཡེ་ཤེས་དང་། སེམས་ཀྱི་དམིགས་པ་དང་། སངས་རྒྱས་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཡུལ་དང་། རྒྱུད་དེ་དེ་རེ་རེ་ལ་ཡང་ཁམས་མཐའ་ཡས་ཞེས་སྦྱོར་བས་ཁམས་མཐའ་ཡས་པ་བཅུ་ལ་དམིགས་ནས་བསྒྲུབ་པའི་ཕྱིར།
They are great prayers due to being accomplished through observing the ten limitless realms, affixing the word "limitless realms" to each of those: sentient beings, worlds, space, nirvana, arising of the Buddhas, Buddha's exalted wisdom, the mind's observed-object, the objects of the Buddha's exalted wisdom, and the continuum.
