The mere collection of parts is not the chariot

གལ་ཏེ་ཁོ་ན་རེ། འདུས་པ་ཙམ་ཤིང་རྟ་མིན་ཞེས་པ་རྟགས་མ་གྲུབ་སྟེ། འཁོར་ལོ་དང་གཟེར་བུ་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཡན་ལག་གི་ཚོགས་པ་ཤིང་རྟ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན།
Someone says: Regarding "The mere collection is not the chariot", reason not established because the collection of parts (the wheels, nails, and so forth) is the chariot.

ཤེས་བྱ་ཆོས་ཅན། ཤིེང་རྟ་བཤིག་པའི་ཡན་ལག་སིལ་བུར་གནས་པ་ལའང་ཤིང་རྟ་ཉིད་ཡོད་པར་འགྱུར་བར་ཐལ།
གལ་ཏེ་ཤིང་རྟའི་ཡན་ལག་ཚོགས་ཙམ་ཤིང་རྟར་འགྱུར་བ་དེས་ནའི་ཕྱིར།
Response: The subject - objects of knowledge - it follows that a chariot would exist where the parts of a destroyed chariot remain scattered because the mere collection of the parts of the chariot are the chariot.

ཁྱབ་པ་ཡོད་དེ། ཤིང་རྟ་བསྒྲིགས་པའི་གནས་སྐབས་འཁོར་ལོ་དང་གཟེར་བུ་སོགས་ཤིང་རྟའི་ཡན་ལག་ཏུ་རང་བཞིན་གྱིས་གྲུབ་ན།
དེ་དག་དུས་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཤིང་རྟའི་ཡན་ལག་ཡིན་དགོས། དེ་ལྟ་ན་ཤིང་རྟ་བཤིག་ནས་སེལ་བུར་གནས་པའི་ཚེ་འདི་དེ་དག་ཤིང་རྟའི་ཡན་ལག་ཡིན་དགོས།
དེ་ལྟར་ན་དེའི་ཚེ་ཡན་ལག་ཅན་དུ་ཤིང་རྟ་ཡོད་པར་འགྱུར་རོ་ཞེས་འཕེན།
There is pervasion: If the wheels, nails, and so forth were inherently established as the parts of the chariot when the chariot is assembled, then they would necessarily be the parts of the chariot at all times; in that case, they would necessarily be the parts of the chariot when the chariot is destroyed and they remain scattered; in that case, the chariot would exist as the part-possessor at that time.

ཤིང་རྟའི་ཡན་ལག་ཚོགས་ཙམ་ཤིང་རྟ་མ་ཡིན་པར་ཐལ། ཤིང་རྟའི་ཡན་ལག་མེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་ཏེ། ཡན་ལག་ཅན་གི་ཤིང་རྟ་མེད་པའི་ཕྱིར།
It follows that the mere collection of the parts of the chariot are not the chariot because the parts of the chariot do not exist; because the chariot that is the part-possessor does not exist.

དེར་ཐལ། ཚོགས་ཙམ་མ་ཡིན་པའི་ཡན་ལག་ཅན་ནི་མེད། དེ་ནི་ཡན་ལག་ཅན་དུ་མི་རུང་བའི་ཕྱིར། རྟགས་རང་ལུགས་ལ་གྲུབ་བོ།
That follows because 1) a part-possessor that is not a mere collection does not exist and 2) [the mere collection of the parts of the chariot] is not suitable as a part-possessor. The [first] reason is established in your system.

If second reason not established: That follows because of being the basis of designation of the part-possessor (i.e. the chariot).
