Three compassions in Gyaltsab Je's Pramana

Love and compassion, and so forth, are of three types: བྱམས་པ་དང་སྙིང་རྗེ་སོགས་ནི་རྣམ་པ་གསུམ་སྟེ།

1. Observing sentient beings སེམས་ཅན་ལ་དམིགས་པ་དང་།
2. Observing phenomena ཆོས་ལ་དམིགས་པ་དང་།
3. Observing the non-observable དམིགས་པ་མེད་པ་ལ་དམིགས་པའོ།

དང་པོ་ནི། གང་གིས་ཀྱང་ཁྱད་པར་དུ་མ་བྱས་པར་སེམས་ཅན་ཙམ་ལ་དམིགས་ནས་བདེ་བ་དང་ཕྲད་པ་དང་། སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་བྲལ་བར་འདོད་པའོ། 
The first is: Observing mere sentient beings without qualifying them with anything and wishing they meet with happiness and be free from suffering.

གཉིས་པ་ནི། གང་ཟག་གི་བདག་དང་བྲལ་བར་རྟོགས་པའི་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱིས་ཟིན་པའི་ངང་ནས་སེམས་ཅན་ལ་དམིགས་པ་དང་། 
The second is: Observing sentient beings within the state conjoined with wisdom realising [them] to be devoid of a self of persons. (Same aspect as above)

གསུམ་པ་ནི། གཟུང་འཛིན་རྫས་ཐ་དད་ཀྱིས་སྟོང་བཞིན་དུ་དེར་ཞེན་པའི་སེམས་ཅན་འདི་དག་ནི་སྙམ་དུ་དམིགས་ནས་རྣམ་པ་སྔ་མ་ལྟར་རོ། 
The third is: Observing them thinking "Although apprehendeds and apprehenders are empty of being different substances, these sentient beings conceive them to be as such." (Same aspect as above)

དེ་ཡང་བདེ་བ་དང་ཕྲད་འདོད་བྱམས་པ་དང་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་བྲལ་འདོད་སྙིང་རྗེའོ། །
Moreover, wishing they meet with happiness is love and wishing they be free from suffering is compassion.
