Valid cognitions of scripture and analogy

འདིའི་དབྱེ་བར་གྱུར་པའི་ལུང་གི་ཚད་མ་ནི། དཔྱད་གསུམ་གྱིས་དག་པའི་ལུང་གི་རྟགས་ལས།
སྦྱིན་པས་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་ཁྲིམས་ཀྱིས་བདེ། །ཞེས་པའི་ལུང་རང་གི་བསྟན་བྱའི་དོན་ལ་མི་སླུ་བར་རྟོགས་པའི་རྗེས་དཔག་ལྟ་བུ་ལ་བྱེད།
Among its divisions, a scriptural valid cognition is taken to be: An inference that the scripture "Due to generosity, resources; due to ethics, happiness;" is non-deceptive wrt its indicated meaning through the sign "a scripture purified through the threefold analysis".

Valid scripture and scriptural valid cognition are not the same: ལུང་ཚད་མ་དང་ལུང་གི་ཚད་མ་མི་འདྲ་སྟེ།

• Scriptural valid cognitions is as explained above ལུང་གི་ཚད་མ་ནི་སྔར་བཤད་པ་དེ་ཡིན་ལ།
• Valid scripture is the Hundred-Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom, for example
  ལུང་ཚད་མ་ནི་ཤེར་ཕྱིན་འབུམ་པ་ལྟ་བུ་ལ་བྱེད་དགོས་པའི་ཕྱིར།

ཕྱི་མ་གྲུབ་སྟེ། ལུང་ཚད་མ་དང་སྐྱེས་བུ་ཚད་མ་སོགས་ཁས་ལེན་དགོས། དེ་དག་ཤེས་པར་ཁས་ལེན་དུ་མི་རུང་བའི་ཕྱིར།
The latter is established because 1) it is necessary to assert [the existence of] valid scriptures, valid beings, and so forth, and 2) it is not suitable to posit those as being consciousness.

ཕྱི་མ་དེར་ཐལ། རྗེ་ཡབ་སྲས་ཀྱིས་ཚད་མའི་དབྱེ་བ་མཛད་པའི་ཚེ་ལུང་གི་ཚད་མ་ཞེས་འབྱུང་གི། ལུང་ཚད་མ་ཞེས་གང་དུ་ཡང་མི་འབྱུང་བའི་ཕྱིར།
The latter follows because Je and his spiritual sons, when indicating the divisions of valid cognition, use "scriptural valid cognition" and never "valid scripture".

དཔེ་ཉེར་འཇལ་གྱི་ཚད་མ་ཡང་རྟགས་ལ་མ་བརྟེན་པར། དཔེ་བཀོད་པ་ཙམ་ལས་དོན་རྟོགས་པའི་བློ་ལ་མི་བྱེད་དེ།
དེ་འདྲའི་ཚད་མ་ཡིན་ན་རང་གི་རྟེན་རྟགས་ལ་བརྟེན་དགོས་པའི་ཕྱིར།
A valid cognition of analogy is not taken as: An awareness realising the meaning through merely stating an example, without depending upon a sign. This is because if it is such a valid cognition, then it necessarily depends upon a sign (its support).
