Divisions of eye-faculty: མིག་དབང་ལ་དབྱེ་ན།
- Supporting eye-faculty རྟེན་བཅས་ཀྱི་མིག་དབང་།
- Concomitant eye-faculty དེ་མཚུངས་ཀྱི་མིག་དབང་།
རང་འབྲས་མིག་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཐུན་མོང་མ་ཡིན་པའི་བདག་རྐྱེན་བྱེད་པའི་མིག་དབང་དེ། དང་པོའི་མཚན་ཉིན།
Definition of supporting eye-faculty: An eye-faculty that acts as the uncommon empowering condition for its resultant eye-consciousness.
མཚན་གཞི་ནི། མིག་ཤེས་ཀྱིས་གཟུགས་ལ་བལྟ་བཞིན་པའི་གནས་སྐབས་ཀྱི་མིག་དབང་ལྟ་བུའོ།

རང་ལ་བརྟེན་པའི་མིག་ཤེས་དང་བཅས་པའི་མིག་དབང་ཡིན་པས། རྟེན་བཅས་མིག་དབང་ཞེས་བརྗོད།
Etymology: Due to being an eye-faculty that is together with the eye-consciousness it is supporting.
རང་འབྲས་མིག་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཐུན་མོང་མ་ཡིན་པའི་བདག་རྐྱེན་མི་བྱེད་པའི་མིག་དབང་དེ། གཉིས་པའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of concomitant eye-faculty: An eye-faculty that does not act as the uncommon empowering condition for its resultant eye-consciousness
མཚན་གཞི་ནི། གཉིད་ལོག་པའི་གནས་སྐབས་ཀྱི་མིག་དབང་ལྟ་བུའོ།

དེའི་སྐབས་སུ་རང་ལ་བརྟེན་པའི་མིག་ཤེས་མེད་ཀྱང་། རང་ལ་བརྟེན་པའི་མིག་ཤེས་ཡོད་པའི་མིག་དབང་དང་།
མིག་དབང་ཡིན་པ་རིགས་མཚུངས་པས་ན། དེ་མཚུངས་ཀྱི་མིག་དབང་ཞེས་བརྗོད།
Etymology: Although the eye-consciousness it is supporting does not exist at that time, it is of similar type (in being an eye-faculty) to the eye-faculty where the eye-consciousness it is supporting does exist.
བྱེ་བྲག་སྨྲ་བས་རྟེན་བཅས་ཀྱི་མིག་དབང་གིས་ཀྱང་གཟུགས་མཐོང་བར་འདོད་དོ།
The Vaibhashikas assert that the supporting eye-faculty also perceived forms.
