In dependence on what path they are attained

གཉིས་པ་ནི་རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་དང་། འབྲས་བུ་ཐོད་རྒལ་པའི་ཕྱིར་འོང་དང་། འབྲས་བུ་ཐོད་རྒལ་བའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གི་འབྲས་བུ་གསུམ་མཐོང་ལམ་ཁོ་ན་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་ཐོབ་སྟེ། དེ་ཉན་ཐོས་ཀྱི་ལམ་རྗེས་བཟོད་ཁོ་ན་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་ཐོབ་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The three results of Stream-Enterer, Leaper to Once-Returner, and Leaper to Non-Returner are attained exclusively in dependence upon the path of seeing because those are attained exclusively in dependence upon the Hearer’s subsequent knowledge in relation to paths (i.e. 16th instant).

The two results of Gradualist Once-Returner and Gradualist Non-Returner can be attained in dependence upon:

• Path of meditation in terms of persons predominantly engaged in special insight (ལྷག་མཐོང་ཤས་ཆེར་སྤྱོད་པའི་གང་ཟག): i.e. in dependence upon the uninterrupted paths abandoning the sixth and ninth Desire Realm afflictions, respectively.
• Mundane path exists in terms of persons predominantly engaged in calm abiding (ཞི་གནས་ཤས་ཆེར་སྤྱོད་པའི་གང་ཟག): i.e. only in dependence upon a mundane path possessing the aspects of coarseness and peacefulness, after having attained the result of Stream-Enterer.
  རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་ཀྱི་འབྲས་བུ་ཐོབ་རྗེས་སུ་འཇིག་རྟེན་པའི་ཞི་རགས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པ་ཅན་གྱི་ལམ་ཁོ་ན་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་དངོས་སུ་ཐོབ་པ།

The result of Hearer Foe-Destroyer is attained exclusively in dependence upon a path of meditation, i.e. in dependence upon the uninterrupted path abandoning the ninth Peak of Existence affliction.
