Non-Returners proceeding to the Form Realm

འདོད་པའི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གང་ཞིག །གཟུགས་སུ་ཉིང་མཚམས་སྦྱོར་བའི་རིགས་ཅན། གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: Someone who is:

1. Non-Returner possessing a Desire Realm support and
2. In the class of those taking rebirth in the Form Realm.

འདོད་པའི་རྟེན་ཅན་སྨོས་པ་ལ་དགོས་པ་ཡོད་དེ། འོག་མིན་གྱི་རྟེན་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པར་ངེས་པའི་གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གོང་འཕོ་འཕར་པའི་
རྟོགས་པ་སྔོན་དུ་སོང་བའི་ཚངས་རིས་ཀྱི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་དེ་གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་ཡིན་པ་གཅད་པར་བྱ་བའི་ཆེད་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
There is a purpose for saying “possessing a Desire Realm support”; it is in order to exclude Non-Returners possessing a Brahma Class support who are preceded by the realisation of a Skipper Non-Returner who transfers to the Upper Realms, proceeds to the Form Realm, and is definite to actualise Nirvāṇa on an Akaniṣṭha support, from being a Non-Returner proceeding to the Form Realm.

ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གི་འབྲས་བུ་ཐོབ་རྗེས་སུ་གཟུགས་ཁམས་སུ་སོང་ནས་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པས་ན་གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་།
Etymology: due to going to the Form Realm after attaining the result of Non-Returner and actualising Nirvāṇa there.

Divisions: Non-Returners proceeding to the Form Realm who: གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་

1. Pass beyond in the intermediate-state བར་འདའ་བ།
   1. Who pass beyond quickly མྱུར་བར་འདའ་བ།
   2. Who do not pass beyond quickly མྱུར་བ་མ་ཡིན་པར་འདའ་བ།
   3. Who pass beyond after a long time དུས་ཡུན་རིང་མོ་ཞིག་ནས་འདའ་བ།
2. Pass beyond upon birth སྐྱེ་འདའ་བ།
   1. Who pass beyond just upon rebirth སྐྱེས་ཙམ་ནས་འདའ་བ།
   2. Who pass beyond with application མངོན་པར་འདུ་བྱེད་དང་བཅས་ཏེ་འདའ་བ།
   3. Who pass beyond without application མངོན་པར་འདུ་བྱེད་མེད་པར་འདའ་བ།
3. Transfer to the Upper Realms གོང་འཕོ་བ།
   1. Ultimately proceed to Akaniṣṭha འོག་མིན་མཐར་ཐུག་འགྲོ།
      1. Skippers འཕར་བ།
      2. Half-Skippers ཕྱེད་འཕར་བ།
      3. Those who pass away to all abodes གནས་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་འཆི་འཕོ་བ།
   2. Ultimately proceed to the Peak of Existence སྲིད་རྩེའི་མཐར་ཐུག་འགྲོ།

Differences:

1. Different karma ལས་ཀྱི་ཁྱད་པར།
   1. If it is those who Pass beyond in the intermediate-state, it is necessarily someone possessing Form Realm accomplishing actions བར་འདའ་བ་ཡིན་ན། གཟུགས་ཀྱི་མངོན་པར་འགྲུབ་པའི་ལས་ཅན་ཡིན་དགོས།
   2. If it is those who Pass beyond upon birth, it is necessarily someone possessing actions that will be experienced in the birth-state of the Form Realm
      སྐྱེ་འདའ་བ་ཡིན་ན། གཟུགས་ཀྱི་སྐྱེ་གནས་མྱོང་འགྱུར་གྱི་ལས་ཅན་ཡིན་དགོས།
   3. If it is those who Transfer to the Upper Realms, it is necessarily someone possessing actions that will be experienced at a time other than that གོང་འཕོ་བ་ཡིན་ན། དེའི་ལན་གྲངས་གཞན་ལ་མྱོང་འགྱུར་གྱི་ལས་ཅན་ཡིན་དགོས།
2. Different faculties དབང་པོའི་ཁྱད་པར།
   1. Those who Pass beyond in the intermediate-state are sharp-faculty བར་འདའ་བ་དེ་དབང་པོ་རྣོ།
   2. Those who Pass beyond upon birth are middling-faculty སྐྱེ་འདའ་བ་དེ་དབང་པོ་འབྲིང་།
   3. Those who Transfer to the Upper Realms are dull-faculty གོང་འཕོ་བ་དབང་པོ་རྟུལ་བ།
3. Different afflictions ཉོན་མོངས་པའི་ཁྱད་པར།
   They respectively have small, middling, and great objects of abandonment
   དེ་གསུམ་ལ་རིམ་པ་བཞིན་དུ་སྤང་བྱ་ཆུང་འབྲིང་ཆེན་པོ་དང་ལྡན་པ།
