Persons abiding in the Four Results

The eight persons: སྐྱེས་བུ་ཟུང་བཞི་གང་ཟག་ཡ་བརྒྱད། / ཞུགས་གནས་བརྒྱད།

1. Stream-Enterer རྒྱུན་ཞུགས།
   1. Approacher to Stream-Enterer རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་ཞུགས་པ།
   2. Abider in Stream-Enterer རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་འབྲས་གནས།
2. Once-Returner ཕྱིར་འོང་།
   1. Approacher to Once-Returner ཕྱིར་འོང་ཞུགས་པ།
   2. Abider in Once-Returner ཕྱིར་འོང་འབྲས་གནས།
3. Non-Returner ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་།
   1. Approacher to Non-Returner ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་ཞུགས་པ།
   2. Abider in Non-Returner ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་འབྲས་གནས།
4. Foe-Destroyer དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་།
   1. Approacher to Foe-Destroyer དགྲ་བཅོམ་ཞུགས་པ།
   2. Abider in Foe-Destroyer དགྲ་བཅོམ་འབྲས་གནས།

Vasubandhu: All eight are pervaded by being Aryas because the sixteenth instant, i.e. the subsequent knowledge in relation to paths, is a path of meditation.
Asanga: There are also Approachers to Stream-Enterer and the two Leaper Approachers on the path of preparation.

Terms:

• Leapers to the result འབྲས་བུ་ཐོད་རྒལ་པ།
• Previously separated from attachment ཆགས་བྲལ་སྔོན་སོང་།
• Gradualists by way of result འབྲས་བུ་རིམ་གྱིས་པ།
• Serialists by way of abandonment སྤང་བྱ་རིམ་གྱིས་པ།
• Simultaneous abandoners སྤང་བྱ་ཅིག་ཅར་པ།

དེས་ན་ཅིག་ཅར་བ་ལ་སྤང་བྱ་ཅིག་ཅར་པས་ཁྱབ། རིམ་གྱིས་པ་ལ་སྤང་བྱ་རིམ་གྱིས་པས་ཁྱབ་བོ།
Therefore:

• Those who are Simultaneous are pervaded by being Simultaneous Abandoners and
• Those who are Gradualists are pervaded by being Serialists.
