Skippers

གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གོང་འཕོ་འོག་མིན་མཐར་ཐུག་འགྲོ་གང་ཞིག །ཚངས་རིས་དང་འོག་མིན་ཏེ་གཟུགས་ཀྱི་སྐྱེ་སྲིད་གཉིས་ཁོ་ན་བླངས་ནས་འོག་མིན་གྱི་
རྟེན་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པའི་རིགས་ཅན། གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གོང་འཕོ་འཕར་བའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: Someone who is:

1. A Non-Returner proceeding to the Form Realm who transfers to the Upper Realms and ultimately proceeds to Akaniṣṭha and
2. In the class of actualising Nirvāṇa on an Akaniṣṭha support, having taken only two Form Realm birth-existences (Brahma Class and then Akaniṣṭha).

རིགས་ཅན་སྨོས་པ་ལ་དགོས་པ་ཡོད་དེ།
ཚངས་རིས་ཀྱི་རྟེན་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པའི་གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གོང་འཕོ་འཕར་བ་བསྡུ་བར་བྱ་བའི་ཆེད་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
There is a purpose for saying “in the class”; it is in order to include Skipper Non-Returners proceeding to the Form Realm who transfer to the Upper Realms and actualise Nirvāṇa on a Brahma Class support.

ཁོ་ན་སྨོས་པ་ལ་དགོས་པ་ཡོད་དེ། འོག་མིན་གྱི་རྟེན་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པའི་གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་ཕྱེད་དུ་འཕར་བ་དང་
གནས་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་འཆི་འཕོ་བ་རྣམས་གཅད་པར་བྱ་བའི་ཆེད་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
There is a purpose for saying “only”; it is in order to exclude Non-Returners proceeding to the Form Realm and actualising Nirvāṇa on an Akaniṣṭha support that are Half-Skippers and those who pass away to all abodes.

གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གོང་འཕོ་དེས་རྒྱུའི་གནས་སྐབས་སུ་བསམ་གཏན་བཞི་པོ་སྤེལ་མར་སྒོམ་པ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་བསམ་གཏན་དང་པོའི་དངོས་གཞིའི་
སྙོམས་འཇུག་དག་པ་བའི་རོ་མྱངས་པའི་དབང་གིས་བསམ་གཏན་གྱི་སྤེལ་སྒོམ་ལས་ཉམས་ནས་ཤི་འཕོས་ཏེ་ཚངས་རིས་སུ་སྐྱེ་བ་བླངས།
རྟེན་དེ་ལ་སྔོན་གོམས་པའི་དབང་གིས་བསམ་གཏན་གྱི་སྤེལ་སྒོམ་ཆེས་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཆེན་པོ་བཅོ་ལྔ་སྤེལ་སྒོམ་བྱས་པ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་ཤི་འཕོས་ཏེ་འོག་མིན་དུ་སྐྱེ་བ་བླངས།
རྟེན་དེ་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པའི་ཆ་ནས་གཟུགས་སུ་ཉེར་འགྲོའི་ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་གོང་འཕོ་འཕར་བར་བཞག
Skipper Non-Returners proceeding to the Form Realm who transfer to the Upper Realms are posited from the perspective of:

• Being Non-Returners proceeding to the Form Realm who transfer to the Upper Realms that cultivate alternations with respect to the four concentrations at the time of the cause; in dependence upon that and through the force of relishing the taste of the pure meditative absorption of the actual first concentration, they degenerate from their cultivation of alternating concentrations, pass away and take rebirth in Brahma Class; then

• In dependence upon having engaged in the exceedingly great cultivation of alternating concentrations of fifteen alternations on that support due to the force of previous familiarity, they pass away and take rebirth in Akaniṣṭha; and then

• They actualise Nirvāṇa on that support.
