Stream-Enterers definite in taking seven existences

རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་སྲིད་པ་ལན་བདུན་པ་བ་གང་ཞིག འདོད་པར་ལས་ཉོན་གྱིས་སྲིད་པ་ཉེར་བརྒྱད་ལེན་པར་ངེས་པའི་རིགས་ཅན།
ངེས་པའི་རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་སྲིད་པ་ལན་བདུན་པ་བའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: Someone who is:

1. A Stream-Enterer taking seven existences and
2. In the class of being definite to take twenty-eight existences in the Desire Realm due to karma and afflictions.

Divisions:

1. Those who possess a god-support ལྷའི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་དེ།
2. Those who possess a human-support མིའི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་དེ།

ངེས་པའི་རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་སྲིད་པ་ལན་བདུན་པ་བ་གང་ཞིག ལྷའི་རྟེན་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པའི་རིགས་ཅན། དང་པོའི་མཚན་ཉིད་ཡིན།
Definition of the first: Someone who is:

1. A Stream-Enterer definite in taking seven existences and
2. In the class of actualising Nirvāṇa on a god-support.

དབྱེ་ན། འདོད་ལྷ་རིགས་དྲུག་གི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་དེ་དྲུག་ཡོད།
Divisions: there are six who possess the supports of the six Desire Realm gods.

དེ་གང་ཞིག མིའི་རྟེན་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད་པའི་རིགས་ཅན། གཉིས་པའི་མཚན་ཉིད་ཡིན།
Definition of the second: Someone who is:

1. That and
2. In the class of actualising Nirvāṇa on a human-support.

དབྱེ་ན། གླིང་གསུམ་གྱི་མིའི་རྟེ ན་ཅན་གྱི་དེ་གསུམ་ཡོད།
Divisions: there are three who possess the supports of the humans of the three continents.

འོ་ན། དེས་སྲིད་པ་ཉེར་བརྒྱད་ལེན་ན་དེ་སྲིད་པ་ལན་བདུན་པ་བར་གསུངས་པ་དང་འགལ་ལོ། ཞེ་ན།
སྐྱོན་མེད་དེ། དེའི་བླང་བྱའི་སྲིད་པ་དེ་རྣམས་བདུན་ཚན་དུ་འདྲ་བས་དེ་ལྟར་བཤད་པའི་ཕྱིར།
Well then, if they take twenty-eight existences, does that not contradict the statements [referring to] them as taking seven existences?
There is no such fault; it is explained as such because the rebirths they take are counted in seven sets.

Mode of taking those existences

གསེར་ཕྲེང་ལྟར་ན། ལྷའི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་ངེས་པའི་རྒྱུན་ཞུགས་སྲིད་པ་ལན་བདུན་པ་བ་དེ་ཤི་འཕོས་ཏེ། ལྷའི་སྐྱེ་སྲིད་དྲུག །དེ་རྗེས་མིའི་སྐྱེ་སྲིད་བདུན།
དེ་ནས་ལྷའི་སྐྱེ་སྲིད་གཅིག་བླངས་ནས་རྟེན་དེ་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད། དེས་མིའི་རྟེན་ཅན་ལ་ཡང་རིགས་འདྲའོ།
According to [Tsongkhapa’s] Golden Rosary, the Stream-Enterer definite in taking seven existences who possesses a god-support passes away, takes six god birth-existences, followed by seven human birth-existences, followed by one god birth-existence, and they actualise Nirvāṇa on that support.
Apply the same reasoning to those possessing a human-support.

ཀུན་བཏུས་ལྟར་ན། ལྷའི་རྟེན་ཅན་གྱི་དེ་ཤི་འཕོས་ཏེ། དང་པོར་མིར་སྐྱེ་བ་གཅིག །དེ་རྗེས་ལྷར་སྐྱེ་སྲིད་གཅིག །དེ་རྗེས་མིར་སྐྱེ་སྲིད་གཅིག་སྟེ།
ཚུལ་དེ་ལྟར་དུ་སྤེལ་ནས་མཐར་ལྷའི་རྟེན་ལ་མྱང་འདས་མངོན་དུ་བྱེད། དེས་མིའི་རྟེན་ཅན་ལ་ཡང་རིགས་འགྲེའོ།
According to [Asaṅga’s] Compendium of Knowledge, those possessing a god-support pass away, are born first as human, followed by a god birth-existence, followed by a human birth-existence, and alternating in this way will finally actualise Nirvāṇa on a god-support.
Apply the same reasoning to those possessing a human-support.
