Bodhisattva’s application indicated in the context of the knower of bases

གཞི་ཀུན་རྫོབ་པའི་སྡོད་ལུགས་ཀྱི་ངོ་བོ་དང་ཁྱད་པར་ལ་ཕྱིན་ཅི་ལོག་ཏུ་ཞེན་པ་དང་། དོན་དམ་པའི་སྡོད་ལུགས་ཀྱི་ངོ་བོ་དང་ཁྱད་པར་ལ་ཕྱིན་ཅི་ལོག་ཏུ་ཞེན་པ་གང་རུང་གི་གཉེན་པོར་སྒོམ་པའི་སེམས་དཔའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་དེ། གཞི་ཤེས་ཀྱི་སྐབས་ནས་བསྟན་པའི་བྱང་སེམས་ཀྱི་སྦྱོར་བའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: A Bodhisattva’s yoga that cultivates an antidote for either:

1. Wrong adherence to the entity and attributes of the mode of abiding of conventional bases; or
2. Wrong adherence to the entity and attributes of the mode of abiding of ultimate bases.

Divisions:

1. Application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to bases of attributes, forms and so forth ཁྱད་གཞི་གཟུགས་སོགས་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
2. Application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to attributes, impermanence and so forth ཁྱད་ཆོས་མི་རྟག་སོགས་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
3. Application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to complete and incomplete supports of qualities ཡོན་ཏན་གྱི་རྟེན་དུ་མ་རྫོགས་པ་དང་རབ་ཏུ་རྫོགས་པ་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
4. Application that ceases the conduct of adherence to true existence while abiding in non-attachment to true existence བདེན་པར་ཆགས་པ་མེད་པ་ཉིད་ལ་གནས་ནས་བདེན་ཞེན་གྱི་སྤྱོད་པ་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
5. Unchanging application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to the three: objects, agents and results of actions ལས་སུ་བྱ་བ་བྱེད་པ་པོ་བྱ་བ་འབྲས་བུ་གསུམ་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པ་མི་འགྱུར་བའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
6. Application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to the agent’s ultimate non-existence དོན་དམ་པར་བྱེད་པ་པོ་མེད་པ་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
7. Application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to the three: that which is difficult to attain, that which is difficult to apply, that which is difficult to enact
   ཆེད་དུ་བྱ་བ་དཀའ་བ། སྦྱོར་བ་བྱ་དཀའ་བ། ལས་བྱ་དཀའ་བ་གསུམ་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
8. Application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to the existence of results attained in accordance with fortune སྐལ་བ་ཇི་བཞིན་འབྲས་བུ་ཐོབ་པའི་འབྲས་བུ་ཡོད་པ་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
9. Application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to non-dependence upon other
   གཞན་ལ་རག་ལས་པ་མེད་པ་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།
10. Application that ceases adherence to true existence with respect to the [presentation of the] seven types of appearances by way of reason and examples
    ཤེས་བྱེད་དཔེའི་སྒོ་ནས་སྣང་བ་རྣམ་བདུན་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་བཀག་པའི་སྦྱོར་བ།

ས་མཚམས་ཐེག་ཆེན་གྱི་ཚོགས་ལམ་ནས་རྒྱུན་མཐའི་བར་ན་ཡོད།
Boundaries: exists from the Mahayana path of accumulation and up to the end of the continuum.

Three Difficulties: (relating to seventh application)

1. That which is difficult to attain: It is difficult to realise that despite the Exalted Knower of All Aspects (the result) not being observed as an objective ultimately, it is an objective conventionally
   ཆེད་དུ་བྱ་དཀའ་བ་ནི། འབྲས་བུ་རྣམ་མཁྱེན་དོན་དམ་པར་ཆེད་དུ་བྱ་བར་མ་དམིགས་ཀྱང་ཐ་སྙད་དུ་ཆེད་དུ་བྱ་བར་རྟོགས་པར་བྱ་དཀའ་བའོ།
2. That which is difficult to apply: It is difficult to realise that despite the Knower of Paths (the cause) not being observed ultimately, it is an application that is the cause of an Exalted Knower of All Aspects conventionally
   སྦྱོར་བ་བྱ་དཀའ་བ་ནི། རྒྱུ་ལམ་ཤེས་དོན་དམ་པར་མ་དམིགས་ཀྱང་། ཐ་སྙད་དུ་རྣམ་མཁྱེན་གྱི་རྒྱུའི་སྦྱོར་བར་རྟོགས་པར་བྱ་དཀའ་བའོ།
3. That which is difficult to enact: It is difficult to realise that despite the Knower of Bases not being observed ultimately, it possesses the function (method) of taking care of other disciples conventionally
   ལས་བྱ་དཀའ་བ་ནི། གཞི་ཤེས་དོན་དམ་པར་མ་དམིགས་ཀྱང་ཐ་སྙད་དུ་གདུལ་བྱ་གཞན་རྗེས་སུ་འཛིན་པའི་ཐབས་ཀྱི་བྱེད་པ་དང་ལྡན་པར་
   རྟོགས་པར་བྱ་དཀའ་བའོ།

Setting forth the reasons of the seven types of appearances together with their examples:
(relating to tenth application) སྣང་བ་རྣམ་པ་བདུན་གྱི་ཤེས་བྱེད་དཔེ་དང་བཅས་པ་འགོད་པ་ནི།

The subject - contaminated dependent-arisings - they lack true existence because of:
ཟག་པ་དང་བཅས་པའི་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་འདི་རྣམས་ཆོས་ཅན། བདེན་པར་མེད་དེ།

1. Being a mere appearances of thoroughly transformed imprints of strong adherence; like a dream.
   མངོན་ཞེན་གྱི་བག་ཆགས་ཡོངས་སུ་གྱུར་པའི་སྣང་བ་ཙམ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། དཔེར་ན་རྨི་ལམ་བཞིན།
2. Being an appearance that is an aggregation of the two: causes and conditions; like an illusion.
   རྒྱུ་རྐྱེན་གཉིས་པོ་ཚོགས་པའི་སྣང་བ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། དཔེར་ན་སྒྱུ་མ་བཞིན།
3. Being an appearance that is contradictory to being truly existent; like a mirage.
   བདེན་པར་ཡོད་པར་འགལ་བའི་སྣང་བ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། དཔེར་ན་སྨིག་རྒྱུ་བཞིན།
4. Being an appearance that depends upon conditions; like an echo.
   རྐྱེན་ལ་རག་ལས་པའི་སྣང་བ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། དཔེར་ན་སྒྲ་བརྙན་བཞིན།
5. Being an appearance that has not moved beyond the aspect of that which deposited the imprint; like a reflection. བག་ཆགས་འཇོག་བྱེད་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པ་ལས་མ་འཕོས་པའི་སྣང་བ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། དཔེར་ན་གཟུགས་བརྙན་བཞིན།
6. Being an appearance that lacks a truly established basis; like a city of gandharvas.
   བདེན་པར་སྒྲུབ་པའི་རྟེན་མེད་པའི་སྣང་བ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། དཔེར་ན་དྲི་ཟའི་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་བཞིན།
7. Being an appearance of an agent that is not truly established; like an emanation.
   བྱེད་པ་པོ་བདེན་པར་གྲུབ་པ་མ་ཡིན་པའི་སྣང་བ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། དཔེར་ན་སྤྲུལ་པ་བཞིན།
