Limitless space

དམིགས་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་བསམ་གཏན་བཞི་པ་ལ་འདོད་ཆགས་དང་བྲལ་བའི་ནམ་མཁའ་མཐའ་ཡས་ཀྱི་སས་བསྡུས་པའི་དགེ་བའི་རིག་པ།
ནམ་མཁའ་མཐའ་ཡས་ཀྱི་དངོས་གཞིའི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་གི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: A virtuous knower included within the level of Limitless Space and that is separated from attachment to the fourth concentration by way of object of observation.

བསམ་གཏན་བཞི་པ་ཐོབ་པ་ན་རྣལ་འབྱོར་པ་དེས་གཟུགས་ལ་སྐྱོན་དང་། གཟུགས་མེད་ལ་ཡོན་ཏན་དུ་མཐོང་ནས་གཟུགས་ཀྱི་འདུ་ཤེས་བཟློག་པའི་ཕྱིར།
ཁ་དོག་དང་དབྱིབས་དང་རེག་བྱ་སོགས་ཀྱི་མཚན་མ་དང་བྲལ་བའི་ནམ་མཁའི་འདུ་ཤེས་ཁོ་ན་སྒོམ་པ་ན། སྔོ་སེར་སོགས་སུ་སྣང་བའི་གཟུགས་དང་།
གྱང་དང་རྩིག་པ་སོགས་སུ་སྣང་བའི་ཐོགས་པ་དང་། གོས་རྒྱན་དང་། སྐྱེད་མོས་ཚལ་དང་རི་ལ་སོགས་པར་སྣང་བའི་སྣ་ཚོགས་པའི་འདུ་ཤེས་ནུབ་སྟེ།
དེ་དག་ལ་ཡིད་གཏད་ཀྱང་ཐམས་ཅད་ནས་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་མི་འབྱུང་བ་ཡིན།
The yogi who has attained the fourth concentration perceives the faults of the Form Realm and the qualities of the Formless Realm and cultivates the discrimination of just space (free from the signs of colours and shapes, objects of touch, and so forth) in order to eliminate the discrimination of form. At that time, the discriminations of various appearances of forms (blue, yellow, etc.), obstructions (walls etc.), clothing, ornaments, parks, mountains, and so forth subside such that even if one focuses on those, none arise whatsoever.

ནམ་མཁའ་མཐའ་ཡས་ཀྱི་དངོས་གཞིའི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་དེས་སྦྱོར་བའི་དུས་སུ་གཟུགས་དང་ཐོགས་པའི་འདུ་ཤེས་ལ་རགས་པར་མཐོང་ནས་དེ་བཟློག་པའི་ཕྱིར་དུ་
ནམ་མཁའི་འདུ་ཤེས་ཁོ་ན་ལ་དམིགས་པར་བྱེད་ཅིང་། དེས་མངོན་དུ་གྱུར་པའི་དངོས་གཞི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཐོབ་པ་ན་ཡང་ནམ་མཁའ་དེ་ཉིད་ལས་གཞན་པའི་རང་སའི་
མིང་᪠ཞིའི་ཕུང་པོ་རྣམས་ལ་དམིགས་པར་བྱེད།
At the time of preparation, the actual meditative absorption of Limitless Space observes the discrimination of only space in order to eliminate the discrimination of form and obstruction, which are perceived to be coarse. Upon attaining the actual meditative absorption manifested by that, it also observes the four name aggregates of its level which are other than that very space.
