ཉེར་བསྡོགས་ཀྱི་སས་བསྡུས་ཤིང་། རང་གི་ཐོབ་བྱར་གྱུར་པའི་གོང་སའི་དངོས་གཞི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཐོབ་བྱེད་ཀྱི་ཐབས་སུ་གྱུར་པའི་ཁམས་གོང་གི་སས་བསྡུས་ཀྱི་
དགེ་བའི་རིག་པ། གོང་སའི་ཉེར་བསྡོགས་ཀྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of a preparation for an upper level: A virtuous knower included within the level of an upper realm and that is:

1. Included within the preparation level and
2. Is the method for attaining the actual meditative absorption of an upper level that is its object of attainment.

Divisions: those for the first concentration and up to the Peak of Existence (8)

ཉེར་བསྡོགས་ཀྱི་སས་བསྡུས་ཤིང་། རང་གི་ཐོབ་བྱར་གྱུར་པའི་བསམ་གཏན་གྱི་དངོས་གཞིའི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཐོབ་བྱེད་ཀྱི་ཐབས་སུ་གྱུར་པའི་བསམ་གཏན་གྱི་སས་བསྡུས་ཀྱི་དགེ་བའི་རིག་པ་དེ། བསམ་གཏན་གྱི་ཉེར་བསྡོགས་ཀྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of a preparation for a concentration: A virtuous knower included within the level of the concentrations and that is:

1. Included within the preparation level and
2. Is the method for attaining the actual meditative absorption of a concentration that is its object of attainment.

Divisions: those of the four concentrations (4)

ཉེར་བསྡོགས་ཀྱི་སས་བསྡུས་ཤིང་། རང་གི་ཐོབ་བྱར་གྱུར་པའི་གཟུགས་མེད་ཀྱི་དངོས་གཞི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཐོབ་བྱེད་ཀྱི་ཐབས་སུ་གྱུར་པའི་གཟུགས་མེད་ཀྱི་སས་བསྡུས་ཀྱི་དགེ་བའི་རིག་པ། གཟུགས་མེད་ཀྱི་ཉེར་བསྡོགས་ཀྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of a preparation for a formless absorption: A virtuous knower included within the level of the formless absorptions and that is:

1. Included within the preparation level and
2. Is the method for attaining the actual meditative absorption of a formless absorption that is its object of attainment.
