Uncontaminated meditative absorptions

གོང་སའི་དངོས་གཞི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་གང་ཞིག །འཇིག་རྟེན་ལས་འདས་པའི་དགེ་བར་དམིགས་པ། གོང་སའི་དངོས་གཞི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཟག་མེད་ཀྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: That observed to be:

1. An actual meditative absorption of an upper level and
2. A supramundane virtue.

དབྱེ་ན། བསམ་གཏན་དང་པོ་ནས་སྲིད་རྩེའི་བར་བརྒྱད་ཡོད།
Divisions: eight from the first concentration to the peak of existence.

མངོན་པ་གོང་འོག་ཏུ་སྲིད་རྩེའི་དངོས་གཞི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཟག་མེད་མེད་པར་བཤད་ཀྱང་། རང་ལུགས་ལ་དེ་ཡོད་དེ། སྤང་བྱ་ཅིག་ཅར་བའི་ཉན་ཐོས་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་དེས་
བསམ་གཏན་དང་པོའི་དངོས་གཞི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཐོབ་པའི་ཚེ། དེས་འདས་ལམ་གྱི་ངོ་བོར་གྱུར་པའི་བསམ་གཟུགས་བརྒྱད་ཀ་ཐོབ་པའི་ཕྱིར།
Although the Upper and Lower Abhidharmas explain that an uncontaminated actual meditative absorption of the Peak of Existence does not exist, in our own system it does exist because Simultaneous Abandoner Hearer Foe-Destroyers attain all eight concentrations and Formless Absorptions in the entity of a supramundane path when they attain the actual meditative stabilisation of the first concentration.
