Sutra Unravelling the Thought

There are ten chapters: མདོ་སྡེ་དགོངས་འགྲེལ་ལ་ལེའུ་བཅུ་ཡོད་དེ།

1. The Introductory Chapter གླེང་གཞིའི་ལེའུ།
   
   
2. The Chapter of Gambhīrārthasandhinrmoćana’s and Vidhivatparipṛćchaka’s Questions
   དོན་ཟབ་དགོངས་པ་ངེས་འགྲེལ་དང་ཚུལ་བཞིན་ཀུན་ཏུ་འདྲི་བ་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་ཞུས་པའི་ལེའུ།
   Settles the suchness in the Vijñaptimātra system.
   རྣམ་པར་རིག་པ་ཙམ་གྱི་དེ་ཁོ་ན་ཉིད་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས།
   
   
3. The Chapter of Dharmodgata’s question and answer
   ཆོས་འཕགས་ཀྱི་དྲིས་ལན་གྱི་ལེའུ།
   Settles how the ultimate is inconceivable as it is to the Logicians’ awareness.
   དོན་དམ་པ་རྟོག་གེའི་བློས་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་བསམ་གྱིས་མི་ཁྱབ་པའི་ཚུལ་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས།
   
   
4. The Chapter of Bodhisattvamativiśuddha’s question and answer
   བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་བློ་གྲོས་རྣམ་དག་གི་དྲིས་ལན་གྱི་ལེའུ།
   Indicates four refutations for the two truths being different entities and four for their being identical, i.e. completely non-different, and then indicates the four modes of apprehending the two truths as one entity but different isolates. བདེན་གཉིས་ངོ་བོ་ཐ་དད་ཡིན་པ་དང་ཐ་དད་གཏན་མེད་ཀྱི་གཅིག་ཡིན་པ་ལ་རིགས་པའི་གནོད་བྱེད་བཞི་བཞི་བསྟན་ནས་
   བདེན་གཉིས་ངོ་བོ་གཅིག་ལ་ལྡོག་པ་ཐ་དད་དུ་འཛིན་པའི་ཚུལ་བཞི་བསྟན།
   
   
5. The Chapter of Viśālamati’s question with answer
   བློ་གྲོས་ཡངས་པའི་དྲིས་ལན་གྱི་ལེའུ།
   Mainly settles the ālāyavijñāna.
   གཙོ་བོར་ཀུན་གཞིའི་རྣམ་ཤེས་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས།
   
   
6. The Chapter of Guṇākara’s question with answer
   ཡོན་ཏན་འབྱུང་གནས་ཀྱི་དྲིས་ལན་གྱི་ལེའུ།
   Mainly settles the presentation of the three natures.
   གཙོ་བོར་མཚན་ཉིད་གསུམ་གྱི་རྣམ་གཞག་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས།
   
   
7. The Chapter of Paramārthasamudgata’s question and answer
   དོན་དམ་ཡང་དག་འཕགས་ཀྱི་དྲིས་ལན་གྱི་ལེའུ།
   Settles the interpretative and definitive meaning of the teachings.
   གསུང་རབ་ཀྱི་དྲང་ངེས་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས།
   
   
8. The Chapter of Maitreya’s question and answer
   བྱམས་པས་ཞུས་པའི་དྲིས་ལན་གྱི་ལེའུ།
   Mainly settles the presentation of calm abiding and special insight.
   ཞི་གནས་དང་ལྷག་མཐོང་གི་རྣམ་གཞག་གཙོ་བོར་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས།
   
   
9. The Chapter of Avalokiteśvara’s question and answer
   སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱིས་ཞུས་པའི་དྲིས་ལན་གྱི་ལེའུ།
   Mainly settles the ten Bodhisattva grounds.
   གཙོ་བོར་བྱང་སེམས་ཀྱི་ས་བཅུའི་རྣམ་གཞག་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས།
   
   
10. The Chapter of Mañjuśrī’s question and answer
    འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཀྱིས་ཞུས་པའི་དྲིས་ལན་གྱི་ལེའུ་རྣམས་སུ་ཡོད་པའི་ཕྱིར།
    Mainly settles the Buddha’s resultant exalted wisdom truth body and so forth.
    འབྲས་བུ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཆོས་སྐུའི་རྣམ་གཞག་སོགས་གཙོ་བོར་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས།

མདོར་ན་དྲིས་ལན་དགུ་བོ་དེས་སེམས་ཙམ་པའི་ལུགས་ཀྱི་གཞི་ལམ་འབྲས་གསུམ་གྱི་རྣམ་གཞག་ཆ་ཚང་བར་གཏན་ལ་འབེབས་སོ།
In short, the nine question and answer chapters settle the complete presentation of the basis, path, and result in the Cittamatra system.
