Path of meditation of dedication

རང་གཞན་གང་རུང་གི་དགེ་རྩ་རྫོགས་བྱང་གི་ཡན་ལག་ཏུ་སྒྱུར་བར་བྱེད་པའི་སྒྲ་དོན་འདྲེས་རུང་དུ་འཛིན་པའི་རྟོག་པ་དང་བཅས་པའི་ཐེག་ཆེན་གྱི་
རྗེས་ལ་མངོན་རྟོགས། བསྔོ་བ་སྒོམ་ལམ་གྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: A Mahayana subsequent clear realisation possessing conceptuality apprehending sound and meaning generalities as suitable to be mixed and that acts to transform one's own and others' roots of virtue into branches of complete enlightenment.

Divisions:

1. Special dedications བསྔོ་བ་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན། - basis of division, all twelve mutually inclusive.
   Related to: being superior to Hearer dedications, due to being towards enlightenment.
2. Possessing the aspect of non-observation མི་དམིགས་པའི་རྣམ་པ་ཅན།
   Related to: dedicated substance (བསྔོ་བའི་རྫས།), i.e. non-observation of the five uncontaminated aggregates
3. Possessing unmistaken characteristics ཕྱིན་ཅི་མ་ལོག་པའི་མཚན་ཉིད་ཅན།
   Related to: observing the dedicating mind (སྔོ་བྱེད་ཀྱི་སེམས།) free from the view of the transitory collection
4. Isolated དབེན་པ།
   Related to: ceasing adherence to true existence wrt the dedicator བསྔོ་བ་པོ་ལ་བདེན་ཞེན་འགོག་པ།
5. Recollecting the nature of the Buddha's merit སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་རང་བཞིན་དྲན་པ།
   Related to: ceasing adherence wrt one's own and the Buddha's virtues as good or bad
   རང་གི་དགེ་བ་དང་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་དགེ་བ་བཟང་ངན་དུ་མངོན་པར་ཞེན་པ་འགོག་པ།
6. Possessing skilful means ཐབས་མཁས་དང་བཅས་པ།
   Related to: ceasing adherence wrt the virtues of the six perfections as good or bad
   ཕྱིན་དྲུག་གི་དགེ་བ་ལ་བཟང་ངན་དུ་ཞེན་པ་འགོག་པ།
7. Signless མཚན་མ་མེད་པ།
   Related to: ceasing true existence of the three spheres wrt all dedications
   བསྔོ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་འཁོར་གསུམ་དུ་བདེན་ཞེན་འགོག་པ།
8. Rejoiced in by the Buddhas སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱིས་རྗེས་སུ་ཡི་རང་བ།
   Related to: knowing conventional dependent-arisings as illusions, dedicating towards Buddhahood
   ཐ་སྙད་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་སྒྱུ་མར་ཤེས་ནས་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་སར་བསྔོ་བ།
9. Not included in the Three Realms ཁམས་གསུམ་དུ་མ་གཏོགས་པ།
   Related to: not dedicating towards the causes of samsara འཁོར་བའི་རྒྱུར་མི་བསྔོ་བ།
10. Small བསྔོ་བ་ཆུང་ངུ་། - e.g. dedicating leading a billion sentient beings to practice the ten non-virtues
11. Middling བསྔོ་བ་འབྲིང་། - e.g. dedicating leading stream-enterers to their results
12. Great བསྔོ་བ་ཆེན་པོ། - e.g. dedicating leading all sentient beings to enlightenment

2-4: related to the three spheres. 10-12: size relates to dedicated substance.

Boundaries: From the first ground and up to the end of the continuum.

Other points:

• Substance: all roots of virtue of the three times because all of those are transformable into complete enlightenment དུས་གསུམ་གྱི་དགེ་རྩ་ཐམས་ཅད་བསྔོ་བའི་རྫས་ཡིན་ཏེ། དེ་ཐམས་ཅད་རྫོགས་བྱང་དུ་བསྒྱུར་བྱ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
  
  

• Dedicating mind in this context: special method and wisdom in the continuum of a Bodhisattva on the path of meditation because they are a pure method that transforms all roots of virtue into complete enlightenment བྱང་སེམས་སྒོམ་ལམ་པའི་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་ཐབས་ཤེས་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན་དེ་འདིར་བསྟན་བསྔོ་བྱེད་ཀྱི་སེམས་ཡིན་ཏེ།
  དེ་དགེ་རྩ་ཐམས་ཅད་རྫོགས་བྱང་དུ་སྒྱུར་བར་བྱེད་པའི་ཐབས་རྣམ་དག་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
  
  

• Entity: That which is:

  • Conjoined with the wisdom not conceiving the three spheres as truly existent;
  • Included in either the intention to transform one's own and others' roots of virtue into complete enlightenment or the aspiration wishing for those to not be exhausted.
    འཁོར་གསུམ་བདེན་པར་མི་རྟོག་པའི་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱིས་ཟིན་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་རང་གཞན་གྱི་དགེ་རྩ་རྫོགས་བྱང་དུ་སྒྱུར་བར་བྱེད་པའི་སེམས་པ་དང༌།
    མི་ཟད་པར་འདོད་པའི་འདུན་པ་ཅི་རིགས་པས་བསྡུས་པ་བསྔོ་བའི་ངོ་བོ་ཡིན།
    
    

• Masters of dedication: Buddhas and higher Bodhisattvas because whatever purpose they dedicate for is quickly accomplished (blessed)
  སངས་རྒྱས་བྱང་སེམས་གོང་མ་རྣམས་བསྔོ་བའི་དབང་པོ་ཡིན་ཏེ། དེ་ཇི་ལྟར་བསྔོ་བའི་དོན་མྱུར་དུ་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབ་པ་པོ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
  
  

• Objective: Dedicated in order for the roots of virtue to be inexhaustible for the benefit of the Buddha's teachings and sentient beings
  སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་བསྟན་པ་དང་སེམས་ཅན་གྱི་ཆེད་དུ་དགེ་རྩ་མི་ཟད་པར་བྱ་བའི་ཕྱིར་དུ་བསྔོ་བར་བྱ་བ་ཡིན།
  
  

• Special purpose: Inferior results become excellent, fruitional results are inexhaustible through utilisation, and so forth དགེ་རྩ་བླ་མེད་རྫོགས་བྱང་དུ་བསྔོས་པ་ཆོས་ཅན། དགོས་པ་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།
  འབྲས་བུ་དམན་པ་ཕུལ་བྱུང་དུ་འགྱུར་བ་དང༌། རྣམ་སྨིན་གྱི་འབྲས་བུ་ལ་ལོངས་སྤྱད་པས་མི་ཟད་པར་འགྱུར་བ་སོགས་ཀྱི་དགོས་པ་ཡོད་པའི་ཕྱིར།
  
  

• Pervasion: dedications are pervaded by prayers, but prayers are not pervaded by dedications because the aspiration "May I attain the state of complete Buddhahood!" is a prayer but not a dedication.
  བསྔོ་བ་ལ་སྨོན་ལམ་གྱིས་ཁྱབ་ཀྱང༌། སྨོན་ལམ་ལ་བསྔོ་བས་མ་ཁྱབ་སྟེ།
  བདག་གིས་རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་གོ་འཕང་ཐོབ་པར་བྱའོ་སྙམ་པའི་འདུན་པ་དེ་སྨོན་ལམ་ཡིན་ཞིང་བསྔོ་བ་མ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
