Absorption of cessation (Abhidharmakosha)
Beings of non-discrimination possess these qualities: འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་པ་པ་དེ་ཁྱད་ཆོས་དུ་མ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།
- Self-sufficient substantially existent རང་རྐྱ་ཐུབ་པའི་རྫས་སུ་ཡོད་པ།
- No manifest minds and mental factors སེམས་སེམས་བྱུང་མངོན་གྱུར་པ་མེད་པ།
- Ceasing all coarse concomitants on the basis of the body aggregate
ལུས་ཀྱི་ཕུང་པོའི་སྟེང་དུ་མཚུངས་ལྡན་རགས་པ་མཐའ་དག་བཀག་པ། - Being the fruitional result of the absorption of non-discrimination
འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་པའི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་གི་རྣམ་སྨིན་གྱི་འབྲས་བུ་ཡིན་པ། - Being included within the level of Great Result འབྲས་བུ་ཆེ་བའི་ནང་དུ་གཏོགས་ཤིང་དེའི་སས་བསྡུས་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The absorption of non-discrimination possesses these qualities: འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་པའི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་དེ་ཡང་ཁྱད་ཆོས་དུ་མ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།
- The self-sufficient substantially existence cessation of all coarse concomitants on the basis of form, the basis of negation དགག་གཞི་གཟུགས་ཀྱི་སྟེང་དུ་མཚུངས་ལྡན་རགས་པ་མཐའ་དག་འགོག་པའི་རང་རྐྱ་ཐུབ་པའི་རྫས་སུ་ཡོད་པ།
- Included within the fourth concentration བསམ་གཏན་བཞི་པའི་སས་བསྡུས་པ།
- Absorbed into with the intention wishing to definitely emerge from samsara
འཁོར་བ་ལས་ངེས་པར་འབྱུང་འདོད་ཀྱི་བསམ་པས་དེ་ལ་སྙོམས་པར་ཞུགས་པ། - Being virtuous by nature due to being attained through the force of a virtuous motivation
ཀུན་སློང་དགེ་བའི་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་ཐོབ་པས་ངོ་བོ་དགེ་བ་ཡིན་པ། - Included only in that experienced in the next birth-state སྐྱེ་གནས་མྱོང་འགྱུར་ཁོ་ནར་གཏོགས་པ།
- Cultivated by ordinary beings and not Aryas སོ་སྐྱེས་སྒོམ་ཞིང་འཕགས་པས་སྒོམ་པ་མ་ཡིན་པ།
- Attained simultaneously with its attained qualities རང་གི་ཐོབ་བྱའི་ཆོས་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཏུ་ཐོབ་པའི་ཁྱད་ཆོས་དང་ལྡན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་པ་དང་འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་པའི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་གཉིས་པོ་དེ་ལ་སྙོམས་པར་ཞུགས་ནས་མ་ལང་གི་བར་དུ་སེམས་སེམས་བྱུང་རགས་པ་འགོག་པ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ།
འགོག་པའི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་དེས་ཀྱང་སེམས་སེམས་བྱུང་རགས་པ་འགོག་པར་བྱེད།
Having absorbed into the two - non-discrimination and the absorption of non-discrimination - coarse minds and mental factors are ceased until one arises.
Similarly, the absorption of cessation functions to cease coarse minds and mental factors.
འགོག་སྙོམས་དེ་འཕགས་རྒྱུད་ལ་ཡོད་ཅིང་སོ་སྐྱེའི་རྒྱུད་ལ་མེད་དེ། སོ་སྐྱེས་བདག་ཆད་ཀྱི་དོགས་པས་འཇིགས་པས་འགོག་པ་ལ་སྙོམས་པར་འཇུག་མི་ནུས་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The absorption of cessation is only in the continua of aryas and not in ordinary beings because ordinary beings are unable to absorb into cessation due to fearing the elimination of the self.
འགོག་སྙོམས་ཕལ་ཆེར་འདོད་གཟུགས་ཀྱི་རྟེན་ལ་ཐོབ་པ་གཙོ་ཆེ་ཞིང༌། དེའི་ནང་ནས་ཀྱང་ཕལ་ཆེར་དང་པོར་མིའི་རྟེན་ལ་གསར་དུ་ཐོབ་པ་གཙོ་ཆེ་བ་ཡིན།
The absorption of cessation is mainly attained upon a Desire Realm of Form Realm support; among those, it is mainly newly attained initially upon a human support.
