Absorption of cessation (Svatantrika)

དགག་གཞི་ཡིད་ཀྱི་རྣམ་ཤེས་ཕྲ་མོའི་སྟེང་དུ་དགག་བྱ་མཚུངས་ལྡན་རགས་པ་བཀག་པས་རབ་ཏུ་ཕྱེ་བའི་རིགས་སུ་གནས་པའི་འཕགས་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཏུ་གྱུར་པའི་ལྡན་མིན་འདུ་བྱེད། འགོག་སྙོམས་ཀྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: A non-concomitant compositional factor that is a meditative absorption in an Arya's continuum abiding in the class distinguished by ceasing the coarse concomitants (its object of negation) on the basis of the subtle mental consciousness (its basis of negation).

Geshe-la adds: "in dependence upon a supramundane path and an actual Peak of Existence mind"

རྟེན་གྱི་སྒོ་ནས་ཉན་ཐོས་རང་རྒྱལ་ཐེག་ཆེན་གྱི་འགོག་སྙོམས་དང་གསུམ་དུ་ཡོད།
By way of entity: serial absorptions and leaper absorptions
ངོ་བོའི་སྒོ་ནས་མཐར་གྱིས་སྙོམས་འཇུག་ཏུ་གྱུར་པའི་འགོག་སྙོམས་དང༌། ཐོད་རྒལ་དུ་གྱུར་པའི་འགོག་སྙོམས་གཉིས་སུ་ཡོད།
By way of experiencing its fruition: those experienced upon birth, at another time, indefinite to induce their fruition རྣམ་སྨིན་མྱོང་ཚུལ་གྱི་སྒོ་ནས་སྐྱེས་ནས་མྱོང་འགྱུར། ལན་གྲངས་གཞན་ལ་མྱོང་འགྱུར། རྣམ་སྨིན་འབྱིན་པར་མ་ངེས་པའི་དེ་དང་གསུམ་དུ་ཡོད།

ཕྱིར་མི་འོང་ལུས་མངོན་བྱེད་ནས་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་སའི་བར་དུ་ཡོད།
Boundaries: from Non-Returner actualising with a body and up to the Buddha-ground.

ཐེག་དམན་པ་རྣམས་ཚོར་འདུ་རགས་པས་ཡིད་སྐྱོ་ནས། སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་ཡིད་མི་བདེ་བ་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཚོར་བ་དང༌། འདུ་བྱེད་ཕྱིན་ཅི་ལོག་རྣམས་ནད་དང་འབྲས་དང་
ཟུག་རྔུའི་རྣམ་པར་མཐོང་ཞིང༌། དེ་དག་ཉེ་བར་ཞི་བའི་འགོག་པ་ནི་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་ལྟ་བུར་གཟིགས་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་སྙོམས་པར་འཇུག
Hinayanists, having been disillusioned by coarse feelings and discrimination, perceive feelings (suffering, mental unhappiness, and so forth) and erroneous discrimination in the aspect of sickness, boils, and pain; they enter absorption by way of seeing the cessation that pacifies these as like passing beyond sorrow.

ཐེག་ཆེན་པ་རྣམས་ནི་བྱམས་པ་དང་སྙིང་རྗེའི་བསམ་པས་སྙོམས་པར་འཇུག་པའི་ཕྱིར། དེ་གཞན་དོན་ཁོ་ནར་དེ་ལ་སྙོམས་པར་འཇུག་པའི་ཕྱིར་ཏེ།
དེ་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་གྱི་རྩལ་རྫོགས་པར་ཐོབ་ནས། གཞན་ལ་ཕྱིན་ཅི་མ་ལོག་པར་བསྟན་པའི་དོན་དུ་དེ་ལ་སྙོམས་པར་འཇུག་པའི་ཕྱིར།
Mahayanists, due to entering absorption with the attitude of love and compassion, absorb into that only for others' welfare because they absorb into that in order to correctly teach it to others, having attained complete skill in concentration.

Objects of negation:

Desire realm: the six consciousnesses འདོད་ཁམས་ན་རྣམ་ཤེས་ཚོགས་དྲུག
Form realm: four consciousnesses, excluding nose and tongue གཟུགས་ཁམས་ན་སྣ་ལྕེའི་རྣམ་ཤེས་མ་གཏོགས་ཚོགས་བཞི།
Formless realm: a single consciousness, excluding all sense-consciousnesses
གཟུགས་མེད་ཁམས་ན་དབང་ཤེས་ཐམས་ཅད་མ་གཏོགས་རྣམ་ཤེས་གཅིག་པུ།

Other points:

Uncontaminated ཟག་མེད།
Imputed existent བཏགས་ཡོད།
Virtuous (due to motivation) ཀུན་སློང་གི་དབང་གིས་དགེ་བ།
Support: all three realms རྟེན་ནི་ཁམས་གསུམ།
