According to the Uttaratantra
ལོངས་སྤྱོད་རྫོགས་པའི་སྐུ་ཆོས་ཅན། ཁྱད་ཆོས་ལྔ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།
The subject - the Complete Enjoyment Body - it possesses five distinguishing features:
- Displaying the Bodies སྐུ་སྟོན་པ་དང་།
- Expressing speech གསུང་བརྗོད་པ་དང་།
- Mental activities - all three uninterruptedly ཐུགས་མཛད་པ་རྒྱུན་མི་འཆད་པ་གསུམ་དང་།
- Those being without the application of effort དེ་དག་ལ་འབད་རྩོལ་གྱི་མངོན་པར་འདུ་བྱེད་པ་མེད་པ་དང་།
- Displaying the appearance of many different continuities despite not existing as such
རྒྱུད་ཐ་དད་པ་ལྟ་བུ་དུ་མར་སྣང་ཡང་དེ་ལྟར་དུ་མ་གྲུབ་པར་སྟོན་པའི་ཁྱད་པར་ལྔ་དང་ལྡན་བའི་ཕྱིར།
རྟགས་དང་པོ་གཉིས་གྲུབ་སྟེ། དྲང་ངེས་སྣ་ཚོགས་པའི་ཆོས་ལ་རྫོགས་པར་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་པའི་རང་བཞིན་གང་ཞིག
གསུང་གི་ཆོས་རྒྱུན་མི་འཆད་དུ་སྣང་བའི་གཟུགས་སྐུ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The first two are established because 1) being the nature of complete enjoyment of various definitive and interpretative Dharma and 2) being a Form Body of uninterrupted appearance of verbal Dharma.
གསུམ་པ་གྲུབ་སྟེ། ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ་དག་པའི་རྒྱུ་མཐུན་པའི་བྱང་ཆེན་རྣམས་དང་། བརྒྱུད་ནས་རིགས་ཅན་གསུམ་གའི་འགྲོ་དོན་རྒྱུན་མི་འཆད་དུ་མཛད་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The third is established because of uninterruptedly enacting the welfare of the Great Bodhisattvas (the concordant cause of purifying great compassion) and indirectly of all three lineage bearers.
བཞི་པ་གྲུབ་སྟེ། བཤད་མ་ཐག་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་གསུམ་པོ་དེ་ལ་འབད་རྩོལ་གྱི་རྣམ་རྟོག་མེད་ཅིང་གདུལ་བྱའི་འདོད་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་ཡོངས་སུ་སྐོང་བར་མཛད་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The fourth is established because of lacking conceptualisations of effort wrt those three qualities just explained and fulfilling disciples' wishes.
ལྔ་པ་གྲུབ་སྟེ། ཡིད་བཞིན་གྱི་ནོར་བུའི་མཐུན་པའི་ངོ་བོ་དང་ཁ་དོག་སྣ་ཚོགས་སུ་མ་གྲུབ་ཀྱང་ཚོན་སྣ་ཚོགས་དང་འཕྲད་པ་ན་ནོར་བུ་དེ་རང་གི་ཁ་དོག་དངོས་མ་ཡིན་པར། ཚོན་དེ་དང་དེའི་ཁ་དོག་ཏུ་སྣང་བ་ལྟར། རང་གི་བསམ་པ་སྣ་ཚོགས་པའི་འགྲོ་བའི་རྐྱེན་སྣ་ཚོགས་པའི་དབང་གིས་ཁྱབ་བདག་ལོངས་སྐུ་རང་གི་སྐུ་དངོས་མ་ཡིན་པར་
སྣ་ཚོགས་སུ་སྣང་ཡང་སྣང་བ་ལྟར་མ་གྲུབ་པའི་གཟུགས་སྐུ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The fifth is established because just like the usual nature and colour of a wish-fulfilling jewel are not various, nevertheless, when meeting with various colours it appears as those colours without those being its actual colours; similarly, it is a Form Body with varied appearances through the power of various conditions of migrators' various attitudes, without those being the actual Body of the Pervasive Enjoyment Body.
