Buddha Jewel

འདུས་མ་བྱས་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་བརྒྱད་དང་ལྡན་པའི་མཐར་ཐུག་གི་སྐྱབས་གནས། / དོན་གཉིས་མཐར་ཕྱིན་པའི་སྐྱབས་གནས་མཐར་ཐུག་དེ།
སངས་རྒྱས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition (GM): A final source of refuge possessing the eight qualities, uncompounded and so forth.
Definition (DA): A final source of refuge that has completed the two welfares.

Divisions:

1. Conventional Buddha Jewel - two Form Bodies
2. Ultimate Buddha Jewel - Nature Body and Exalted Wisdom Truth Body

The eight qualities:

1. The quality of being uncompounded, free from arising and disintegration
   སྐྱེ་འཇིག་དང་བྲལ་བ་འདུས་མ་བྱས་ཀྱི་ཡོན་ཏན།
2. The quality of spontaneity, completely pacifying effort འབད་རྩོལ་ཉེ་བར་ཞི་བ་ལྷུན་གྱིས་གྲུབ་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
3. The quality that it cannot be realised as it is, by expressive sound and conceptuality, in accordance with its appearance to the awareness whose appearing object it is.
   རང་སྣང་ཡུལ་དུ་བྱེད་པའི་བློ་ལ་སྣང་བྱ་ལྟར་རྗོད་བྱེད་ཀྱི་སྒྲ་དང་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པས་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་རྟོགས་མི་ནུས་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
4. The quality of knowing the modes and varieties ཇི་ལྟ་བ་དང་ཇི་སྙེད་པ་མཁྱེན་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
5. The quality of compassion བརྩེ་བའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
6. The quality of ability ནུས་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
7. The quality of one’s own welfare རང་དོན་གྱི་ཡོན་ཏན།
8. The quality of others’ welfare གཞན་དོན་གྱི་ཡོན་ཏན།

རྒྱུད་བླ་མ་ལས། འདུས་མ་བྱས་ཤིང་ལྷུན་གྱིས་གྲུབ། གཞན་གྱི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་རྟོགས་མིན་པ།
མཁྱེན་དང་བརྩེ་དང་ནུས་པར་ལྡན། དོན་གཉིས་ལྡན་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཉིད།
Maitreya’s Uttaratantra says:
Uncompounded and spontaneous,
Not realised by condition of other,
Possessing knowledge, compassion, and ability,
And possessing the two welfare – the Buddha itself.
