Conceptions of apprehendeds to be discarded (Meditation)
Divisions by way of object: ཡུལ་གྱི་སྒོ་ནས་དགུ་ཡོད་དེ།
- Conception of not producing the mind of enlightenment བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་སེམས་མི་སྐྱེ་བའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ།
- Conception of not engaging in the essence of enlightenment (dharmakaya) as an object of attainment
བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་སྙིང་པོ་ཐོབ་བྱར་ཡིད་ལ་མི་བྱེད་པའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ། - Conception of engaging in the Hearer vehicle as an object of attainment
ཉན་ཐོས་ཀྱི་ཐེག་པ་ཐོབ་བྱར་ཡིད་ལ་བྱེད་པའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ། - Conception of engaging in the Solitary Realiser vehicle as an object of attainment
རང་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཐེག་པ་ཐོབ་བྱར་ཡིད་ལ་བྱེད་པའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ། - Conception of not engaging in perfect complete enlightenment as an object of attainment
ཡང་དག་པར་རྫོགས་པའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཐོབ་བྱར་ཡིད་ལ་མི་བྱེད་པའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ། - Conception of meditation སྒོམ་པའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ།
- Conception of non-meditation སྒོམ་པ་མེད་པའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ།
- Conception of not through meditation nor through non-meditation
བསྒོམས་པས་ཀྱང་མ་ཡིན་མ་བསྒོམས་པས་ཀྱང་མ་ཡིན་པའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ། - Conception not in accordance with the meaning དོན་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་མ་ཡིན་པའི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ།
In terms of the objects, respectively:
- Two are wrt the Hinayana path of accumulation ཐེག་དམན་གྱི་ཚོགས་ལམ་གྱི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པ་གཉིས།
- Two are wrt the Hinayana path of preparation ཐེག་དམན་གྱི་སྦྱོར་ལམ་གྱི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པ་གཉིས།
- One is wrt the Hinayana path of seeing ཐེག་དམན་གྱི་མཐོང་ལམ་གྱི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པ་གཅིག
- One is wrt the Hinayana path of meditation ཐེག་དམན་གྱི་སྒོམ་ལམ་གྱི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པ་གཅིག
- One is wrt the Hinayana path of no more learning ཐེག་དམན་གྱི་མི་སློབ་ལམ་གྱི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པ་གཅིག
- One is wrt the opposites of those [previous seven] དེ་དག་ལས་ཟློག་པའི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པ་གཅིག
- One is wrt erroneous deviations ཕྱིན་ཅི་ལོག་ཏུ་གོལ་བའི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པ་གཅིག
རྟོག་པ་དགུ་པོ་དེས་ཡུལ་དགུ་པོ་དེ་ལ་རྟོག་ཚུལ་ཡོད་དེ། དངོས་པོར་ཞེན་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་འདི་ནི་བདག་གི་ལྡོག་བྱའོ་སྙམ་དུ་རྟོག་པའི་ཕྱིར།
Mode of conception: Thinking "This is by object to be discarded" by way of adherence to things.
རྟོག་པ་དེ་རྣམས་ཆོས་ཅན། སྒོམ་ལམ་རྩེ་སྦྱོར་གྱི་སྤང་བྱ་ཡིན་ཏེ། སྒོམ་ལམ་རྩེ་སྦྱོར་ཐོབ་པ་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པའི་གནས་སྐབས་ཀྱི་སྤང་བར་བྱ་བ་ཉིད་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
The subject - these conceptions - they are objects of abandonment of the Peak Application of the path of meditation because they are that to be abandoned on the occasion of having attained but not completed the Peak Application of the path of meditation.
ཉན་ཐོས་ཀྱི་ཚོགས་ལམ་དུ་ཐེག་ཆེན་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་མི་སྐྱེ་བར་མཐོང་ནས་དེ་ལ་ལྡོག་བྱར་བདེན་པར་ཞེན་པའི་རྟོག་པ་ལྷན་སྐྱེས་ཆོས་ཅན།
སྒོམ་ལམ་རྩེ་སྦྱོར་གྱི་སྤང་བྱ་ཡིན་ཏེ། དེའི་གཞོམ་བྱ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར། དེས་ལྷག་མ་བརྒྱད་ལ་རིགས་འགྲེ།
The subject - the innate conception perceiving the non-production of the Mahayana mind generation on the Hearer path of accumulation and adhering to that as a truly existent object to be discarded - it is an object of abandonment of the Peak Application of the path of meditation because it is that eliminated by that.
