Dharma Jewel

བསམ་དུ་མེད་པ་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་བརྒྱད་པོ་གང་རུང་དང་ལྡན་པའི་འཕགས་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་རྣམ་བྱང་བདེན་པ། ཡང་ན།
འགོག་བདེན་དང་ལམ་བདེན་གང་རུང་གིས་བསྡུས་པའི་འཕགས་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་རྣམ་བྱང་བདེན་པ་དེ།
ཆོས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition (GM): A completely pure truth in the continuum of an Arya, possessing any of the eight qualities, inconceivability and so forth.
Definition (DA): A completely pure truth in an Arya’s continuum, which is included within either true cessations or true paths.

Divisions:

1. Conventional Dharma Jewel - e.g. twelve branches of scripture
2. Ultimate Dharma Jewel - True cessations and True paths

The eight qualities of Mahayana Dharma Jewel:

1. The quality of not being conceivable as it is by the logicians’ awareness in terms of the four possibilities
   མུ་བཞིར་རྟོག་གེ་བའི་བློས་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་བསམ་དུ་མེད་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
2. Without either karma or affliction ལས་ཉོན་གཉིས་ཅི་རིགས་པ་མེད་པ།
3. Without the conceptualisations of incorrect mental engagement ཚུལ་མིན་ཡིད་བྱེད་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པར་རྟོག་པ་མེད་པ།
4. Pure, since the entity of the path is unmixed with obscurations ལམ་གྱི་ངོ་བོ་སྒྲིབ་པ་དང་མ་འདྲེས་པས་དག་པ།
5. Clear, knowing the modes and varieties གསལ་བ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་དང་ཇི་སྙེད་པ་རིག་པ།
6. The quality of acting as an antidote to the discordant class མི་མཐུན་ཕྱོགས་ཀྱི་གཉེན་པོ་བྱེད་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
7. The quality of true cessation, freedom from attachment གང་ཞིག་ལ་ཆགས་པ་དང་བྲལ་བའི་འགོག་བདེན་ཡི་ཡོན་ཏན།
8. The quality of true paths, which act to free from attachment གང་གིས་ཆགས་པ་དང་བྲལ་བར་བྱེད་པ་ལམ་གྱི་ཡོན་ཏན།

རྒྱུད་བླ་མ་ལས། བསམ་མེད་གཉིས་མེད་རྟོག་མེད་པ། དག་གསལ་གཉེན་པོའི་ཕྱོགས་ཉིད་ཀྱིས།
གང་ཞིག་གང་གིས་ཆགས་བྲལ་བ། བདེན་གཉིས་མཚན་ཉིད་ཅན་དེ་ཆོས།
Maitreya’s Uttaratantra says:
Inconceivable, without the two, without conceptualisation,
Pure, clear, and of the antidote class,
That which is and that by which there is freedom from attachment;
These possessing the characteristics of the two truths are Dharma.
