Ethics

སྤོང་བའི་སེམས་པ། ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་ཀྱི་ངོ་བོ།
Entity: the intention to abandon.

Division by way of entity: དེ་ལ་ངོ་བོའི་སྒོ་ནས་

1. Ethics of restraint from negative behaviour ཉེས་སྤྱོད་སྡོམ་པའི་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས།
2. Ethics of gathering virtuous dharma དགེ་བ་ཆོས་སྡུད་ཀྱི་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས།
3. Ethics of enacting the welfare of sentient beings སེམས་ཅན་དོན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་གསུམ་ཡོད།

བྱང་སེམས་འཕགས་པའི་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་ཆོས་ཅན། ཁྱད་ཆོས་གསུམ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།
The subject - the ethics in the continuum of an Arya Bodhisattva - it possesses three distinguishing features:

1. Acting to degenerate faulty ethics (its discordant class) རང་གི་མི་མཐུན་ཕྱོགས་འཆལ་ཁྲིམས་ཉམས་པར་བྱེད།
2. Conjoined with the exalted wisdom of not conceiving a self of phenomena (its assistant)
   གྲོགས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བདག་ཏུ་རྣམ་པར་མི་རྟོག་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱིས་ཟིན་པ།
3. Ripening sentient beings due to abandoning harm towards others (its function)
   བྱེད་ལས་གཞན་ལ་ཉེར་འཚེ་སྤོང་བས་སེམས་ཅན་སྨིན་པར་བྱེད་པའི་ཁྱད་ཆོས་དང་ལྡན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
