Faculties of the five feelings

ལུས་ཚོར་བདེ་བའི་དབང་པོ་དང༌། བསམ་གཏན་གསུམ་པའི་སས་བསྡུས་ཀྱི་ཚོར་བ་བདེ་བའི་དབང་པོ་གང་རུང་གིས་སས་བསྡུས་པའི་ཚོར་བ་གང་ཞིག སིམ་པར་མྱོང་བ། ཚོར་བ་ལྔའི་ནང་ཚན་དུ་གྱུར་པའི་ཚོར་བ་བདེ་བའི་དབང་པོའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of the faculty of pleasant feelings (that is a subdivision of the five feelings): That which is:

1. A feeling included in the level of either:
   1. The faculty of pleasant physical feelings
   2. The faculty of pleasant feelings included within the level of the third concentration; and
2. An experience of well-being.

Divisions:

1. Faculty of pleasant physical feelings ལུས་ཚོར་བདེ་བའི་དབང་པོ།
   Definition: That which is 1) a feeling in the retinue of the sense consciousness it is concomitant with and 2) an experience of well-being.
   རང་དང་མཚུངས་ལྡན་གྱི་དབང་པོའི་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པའི་འཁོར་དུ་བྱུང་བའི་ཚོར་བ་གང་ཞིག །སིམ་པར་མྱོང་བ། དང་པོའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
   Divisions: that in the retinue of an eye-consciousness and so forth (5)
2. Faculty of pleasant mental feelings སེམས་ཚོར་བདེ་བའི་དབང་པོ།

ལུས་ཚོར་གང་ཞིག །གདུང་བར་ཉམས་སུ་མྱོང་བ། ཚོར་བ་ལྔའི་ནང་ཚན་དུ་གྱུར་པའི་ཚོར་བ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་གྱི་དབང་པོའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of the faculty of suffering feelings (that is a subdivision of the five feelings): That which is:

1. A physical feeling; and
2. Experienced as suffering.

སེམས་ཚོར་གང་ཞིག །གདུང་བར་ཉམས་སུ་མྱོང་བ། ཡིད་མི་བདེ་བའི་དབང་པོའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of the faculty of mental unhappiness: That which is:

1. A mental feeling; and
2. Experienced as suffering.

བསམ་གཏན་གཉིས་པ་ཡན་ཆད་ཀྱི་སས་བསྡུས་ཀྱི་སེམས་ཚོར་གང་ཞིག །སིམ་པར་མྱོང་བ། ཡིད་བདེ་བའི་དབང་པོའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of the faculty of mental happiness: That which is:

1. A mental feeling included within the level of the second concentration and below; and
2. Experienced as well-being.

ཚོར་བ་གང་ཞིག །སིམ་གདུང་བར་མར་ཉམས་སུ་མྱོང་བ། བཏང་སྙོམས་ཀྱི་དབང་པོའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of the faculty of equanimity: That which is:

1. A feeling; and
2. Experienced as in between well-being and suffering.

འཇིག་རྟེན་པའི་ཀུན་ནས་ཉོན་མོངས་ཕྱོགས་ཀྱིས་བསྡུས་པའི་ཚོར་བ་ལྔ་ཆོས་ཅན། ཁྱོད་ལ་དབང་པོ་ཞེས་བརྗོད་པའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་ཡོད་དེ།
ཉོན་མོངས་པའི་ཆོས་ལ་ལྷག་པར་དབང་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར།
Etymology: Due to greatly empowering afflicted phenomena.
