Forbearance

ཐེག་ཆེན་གྱི་ངེས་འབྱེད་ཆ་མཐུན་གསུམ་པ་གང་ཞིག ཤེས་སྒྲིབ་རྫས་འཛིན་རྟོག་པ་མངོན་གྱུར་པ་འཇོམས་པའི་ནུས་པ་ཐོབ་པའི་ལམ་གྱི་རིགས་སུ་གནས་པས་རབ་ཏུ་ཕྱེ་བ། ཐེག་ཆེན་གྱི་སྦྱོར་ལམ་བཟོད་པའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: That which is 1) the third Mahayana partial concordance with definite discrimination and 2) distinguished by abiding in the class of path that has attained the ability to overcome the manifest knowledge obscurations that are the conceptions of apprehenders of substantial existents.

Divisions: Small, middling, great.

Etymology: “Forbearance” due to only taking rebirth in higher realms and severing rebirth in the lower realms through the force of karma and afflictions བདེ་འགྲོ་འབའ་ཞིག་ཏུ་སྐྱེ་ཞིང་ངན་འགྲོར་ལས་ཉོན་གྱིས་སྐྱེ་བ་ཆད་པས་བཟོད་པ།
