Function-characteristics
ཕན་བདེ་སྐྱོབ་སོགས་ཀྱི་བྱེད་ལས་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན་དང་ལྡན་པའི་སེམས་དཔའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར། གཞན་དོན་སྒྲུབ་པའི་བྱེད་ལས་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན་དང་ལྡན་པའི་སྦྱོར་བའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of an application possessing the special function of accomplishing others' welfare: A Bodhisattva yoga possessing the special functions of benefit, happiness, protection, and so forth.
These eleven function characteristics characterise the sixteen yogas listed in Entity-characteristics as possessing the special function of accomplishing others' welfare.
There are eleven function-characteristics of Mahayana applications:
ཐེག་ཆེན་གྱི་སྦྱོར་བའི་བྱེད་མཚན་དེ་ལ་བཅུ་གཅིག་ཏུ་ཡོད་དེ།
- Three functions wrt applications of a knower of bases གཞི་ཤེས་ཀྱི་སྦྱོར་བའི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པའི་བྱེད་པ་གསུམ།
- Benefitting in future lives མ་འོངས་པ་སྟེ་ཚེ་ཕྱི་མའི་ཕན་པའི་བྱེད་པ།
- Happiness in this life ཚེ་འདིའི་བདེ་བའི་བྱེད་པ།
- Protection སྐྱོབ་པའི་བྱེད་པ།
- Seven functions wrt applications of a knower of paths ལམ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་སྦྱོར་བའི་དབང་དུ་བྱས་པའི་བྱེད་པ་བདུན།
- Refuge སྐྱབས་ཀྱི་བྱེད་པ།
- Abode གནས་ཀྱི་བྱེད་པ།
- Support and friendship དཔུང་གཉེན་གྱི་བྱེད་པ།
