Generosity

གཏོང་བའི་སེམས་པ། སྦྱིན་པའི་ངོ་བོ།
Entity: the intention of giving.

Division by way of support: དེ་ལ་རྟེན་གྱི་སྒོ་ནས་

1. Generosity of material things - mainly practiced by householders
   ཁྱིམ་པའི་རྟེན་ལ་གཙོ་བོར་ཉམས་སུ་བླང་བར་བྱ་བ་ཟང་ཟིང་གི་སྦྱིན་པ།
2. Generosity of dharma - mainly practiced by the ordained
   རབ་བྱུང་གི་རྟེན་ལ་གཙོ་བོར་ཉམས་སུ་བླང་བར་བྱ་བ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྦྱིན་པ།
3. Generosity of fearlessness and protection - mainly practiced by both
   དེ་གཉིས་ཀའི་རྟེན་ལ་གཙོ་བོར་ཉམས་སུ་བླང་བར་བྱ་བ་མི་འཇིགས་པའི་སྐྱབས་ཀྱི་སྦྱིན་པ།

The subject - the generosity in the continuum of an Arya Bodhisattva - it possesses three distinguishing features: བྱང་སེམས་འཕགས་པའི་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་སྦྱིན་པ་ཆོས་ཅན། ཁྱད་ཆོས་གསུམ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།

1. Ability to eliminate its discordant class (miserliness and so forth)
   རང་གི་མི་མཐུན་ཕྱོགས་སེར་སྣ་འཇོམས་པར་ནུས་པ།
2. Conjoined with the exalted wisdom of not conceiving a self of phenomena (its assistant)
   གྲོགས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བདག་ཏུ་རྣམ་པར་མི་རྟོག་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱིས་ཟིན་པ།
3. Fulfilling the all the wishes of others and ripening inestimable sentient beings (its function)
   བྱེད་ལས་གཞན་གྱི་འདོད་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པར་བྱེད་ཅིང། སེམས་ཅན་དཔག་ཏུ་མེད་པ་སྨིན་པར་བྱེད་པའི་ཁྱད་ཆོས་དང་ལྡན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
