འཕགས་ལམ་ཡན་ལག་བརྒྱད་པོ་འདི་འཁོར་ལོས་སྒྱུར་བའི་རྒྱལ་པོའི་འཁོར་ལོ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་དང་ཆོས་མཚུངས་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ།
དེ་གདུལ་བྱའི་རྒྱུད་ལ་རིམ་གྱིས་འཕོ་བ་དེ་འཁོར་ལོ་ཡུལ་གཞན་ནས་གཞན་དུ་འཕོ་བ་དང་ཆོས་མཚུངས།
These eight branches of arya paths are similar to the precious wheel of wheel-turning kings because they gradually proceed to disciples' continua, just like the wheel proceeds from one place to the next.
ཡང་དག་པའི་ལྟ་བ། རྟོག་པ། རྩོལ་བ། དྲན་པ་བཞི་ནི།
ལྷག་པ་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱི་བསླབ་པར་འདུས་པས་དེས་རང་གི་མི་མཐུན་ཕྱོགས་འཇོམས་པས་ན་གཅོད་པར་བྱེད་པའི་རྩིབས་དང་ཆོས་མཚུངས།
The four of right view, investigation, striving, and mindfulness are similar to the destructive spokes due to being included within the higher training in wisdom and therefore overcoming their discordant class.
ཡང་དག་པའི་ངག་ལས་ཀྱི་མཐའ་འཚོ་བ་གསུམ་ལྷག་པ་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་ཀྱི་བསླབ་པར་འདུས་པས་
དེ་གསུམ་ནི་ཡོན་ཏན་ཀུན་གྱི་གཞི་རྟེན་བྱེད་པས་རྟེན་པར་བྱེད་པའི་ལྟེ་བ་དང་ཆོས་མཚུངས།
The three of right speech, limits of actions, and livelihood are similar to the supportive hub due to being included within the higher training in ethics and therefore acting as the support of all qualities.
ཡང་དག་པའི་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་ནི་ལྷག་པའི་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་གྱི་བསླབ་པ་ཡིན་པས་
དེས་སེམས་དམིགས་པ་ལ་སྡུད་པར་བྱེད་པས་ན་སྡུད་པར་བྱེད་པའི་མུ་ཁྱུད་དང་ཆོས་མཚུངས་པའི་ཕྱིར།
Right concentration is similar to the outer rim that hold together due to being included within the higher training in concentration and therefore holding the mind to its object.
ཡན་ལག་བརྒྱད་དང་ལྡན་པའི་ཆུ་ནི་འབབ་པའི་ཆུ་ཡི་སྣོད་ཀྱི་དབྱེ་བས་མངར་བ་དང་སྐྱུར་བ་དང་ཤིན་ཏུ་ཁ་བའི་རོ་དང་ལྡན་པར་འགྱུར་བ་བཞིན་དུ།
འཕགས་ལམ་ཡན་ལག་བརྒྱད་པོ་དེ་ཡང༌། ཐེག་པ་ཆེ་འབྲིང་ཆུང་གསུམ་དང་འབྲེལ་བའི་བྱེ་བྲག་གིས་རབ་འབྲིང་ཐ་གསུམ་དུ་འགྱུར་བ་ཡིན་ཏེ།
Just as water possessing the eight branches will possess different tastes, such as sweet, sour, bitter, and so forth, through being poured into different water vessels; also the eight branches of arya paths become great, middling, and small through the instances relating to the three vehicles.
The eight qualities of water / water possessing the eight branches:
- sweet-tasting;
- cool;
- soft;
- light;
- transparent;
- clean;
- not harmful to the throat; and
- beneficial to the stomach.
