Knower-characteristics of applications of a Knower of Paths
སྟོང་ཉིད་མཚན་མེད་སོགས་ལམ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པ་གང་རུང་ལ་དམིགས་པའི་སེམས་དཔའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར། ལམ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་སྦྱོར་བའི་བྱེ་བྲག་གི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Individual characteristics: A Bodhisattva yoga observing any aspect of a knower of paths, such as emptiness, signlessness, and so forth.
These sixteen knower-characteristics characterise the five Applications of a Knower of Paths in the continuum of a Bodhisattva (from among the sixteen applications of the path perfection of wisdom).
Sixteen knower-characteristics:
- Emptiness (སྟོང་ཉིད།) - knowing all phenomena to be empty ཆོས་ཐམས་ཅད་སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་དུ་ཤེས་པ།
- Signlessness (མཚན་མེད།) - knowing those as without signs, i.e. causes རྒྱུའི་མཚན་མ་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ།
- Wishlessness (སྨོན་མེད།) - knowing those as non-existent as their wished for results
འབྲས་བུ་ལ་སྨོན་པར་བྱར་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ། - Knowing to be non-produced by the forward process of dependent-arising
རྟེན་འབྲེལ་ལུགས་འབྱུང་གིས་སྐྱེ་བ་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ། - Knowing to be unceased by the reverse process ལུགས་ལྡོག་གིས་འགགས་པ་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ།
And so forth: - Knowing the thoroughly-afflicted to be non-existent ཀུན་ནས་ཉོན་མོངས་པ་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ།
- Knowing the completely-pure free from stains to be non-existent དྲི་མ་དང་བྲལ་བའི་རྣམ་པར་བྱང་བ་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ།
- Knowing the things to be adopted and discarded to be non-existent བླང་དོར་གྱི་དངོས་པོ་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ།
- Knowing entitiness that is passed beyond sorrow མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པའི་ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་ཤེས་པ།
- Knowing things of dharmadhatu to be without a support for abiding
ཆོས་ཀྱི་དབྱིངས་ཀྱི་དངོས་པོ་གནས་པའི་རྟེན་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ། - Knowing those in accordance with the characteristics of space དེ་དག་ཀྱང་ནམ་མཁའི་མཚན་ཉིད་ལྟར་ཤེས་པ།
- Knowing the dharmata of gods, humans, and so forth to be undisturbed or non-discarded
ལྷ་མི་སོགས་ཀྱི་ཆོས་ཉིད་རྣམ་པར་འཁྲུགས་པའམ་དོར་བ་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ། - Knowing that to be not composed through causes and conditions རྒྱུ་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་མངོན་པར་འདུ་མི་བྱེད་པར་ཤེས་པ།
- Knowing dharmata without conceptualisations ཆོས་ཉིད་རྣམ་པར་མི་རྟོག་པར་ཤེས་པ།
- Knowing the classifications of phenomena's characteristics ཆོས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་མཚན་ཉིད་ཀྱི་རབ་ཏུ་དབྱེ་བ་ཤེས་པ།
- Knowing all characteristics to be ultimately non-existent དོན་དམ་པར་མཚན་ཉིད་ཐམས་ཅད་མེད་པར་ཤེས་པ།
Up a level: Knower-characteristics
