Sangha Jewel

རིག་གྲོལ་གྱི་ཡོན་ཏན་བརྒྱད་པོ་གང་རུང་དང་ལྡན་པའི་འཕགས་པའི་གང་ཟག དགེ་འདུན་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition (Both): An Arya person possessing any of the eight qualities of knowledge and liberation.

Divisions (terminological):

1. Conventional Sangha Jewel - mutually inclusive with Arya person
2. Ultimate Sangha Jewel - True cessations and True paths

Common locus: Arya bodhisattva.

The eight qualities of Mahayana Sangha Jewel:

• The quality of knowing the modes ཇི་ལྟ་བ་རིག་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
• The quality of knowing the varieties ཇི་སྙེད་པ་རིག་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
• The quality of knowing the inner ནང་རིག་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
• The three qualities of being pure of their respective attachment, obstructive, and inferior [obscurations]
  རང་གི་ངོ་སྐལ་གྱི་ཆགས་ཐོགས་དམན་གསུམ་ཅི་རིགས་པས་དག་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་གསུམ།
• The quality of knowledge རིག་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན།
• The quality of liberation གྲོལ་བའི་ཡོན་ཏན།

རྒྱུད་བླ་མ་ལས། ཇི་ལྟ་ཇི་སྙེད་ནང་གི་ནི། ཡེ་ཤེས་གཟིགས་པ་དག་པའི་ཕྱིར།
བློ་ལྡན་ཕྱིར་མི་ལྡོག་པའི་ཚོགས། བླ་མེད་ཡོན་ཏན་དང་ལྡན་ཉིད།
Maitreya’s Uttaratantra says:
Because their exalted wisdom of the
Modes, varieties, and inner is of pure perception,
The assembly of irreversible intelligent ones
Possess unsurpassed qualities.
