Other-exclusions that are implicative negations

གཞན་སེལ་ཡང་ཡིན། རང་གི་དགག་བྱ་བཀག་ཤུལ་དུ་འཕངས་པའི་སྒྲུབ་པ་མེད་པ་མ་ཡིན་པ་ཡང་ཡིན་པའི་གཞི་མཐུན་པ། མ་ཡིན་དགག་གི་གཞན་སེལ་གྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: The common locus of:

1. Being an other-exclusion; and
2. Not lacking a positive phenomenon that is conveyed upon the negation of its object of negation

Divisions: རང་ཞེས་བརྗོད་པའི་སྒྲས་རང་གི་དགག་བྱ་བཀག་ཤུལ་དུ་རང་གི་འཕངས་བྱར་གྱུར་པའི་ཆོས་གཞན་སྒྲུབ་པ་་་

1. Implicative negation where the term expressing it explicitly conveys another positive phenomenon that is its conveyed-object upon negating its object of negation
   དངོས་སུ་འཕེན་པའི་མ་ཡིན་དགག་པ།
2. Implicative negation where the term expressing it implicitly conveys another positive phenomenon that is its conveyed-object upon negating its object of negation
   ཤུགས་ལ་འཕེན་པའི་མ་ཡིན་དགག་པ།
3. Implicative negation where the term expressing it both explicitly and implicitly conveys another positive phenomenon that is its conveyed-object upon negating its object of negation
   དངོས་ཤུགས་གཉིས་ཀ་ལ་འཕེན་པའི་མ་ཡིན་དགག་པ།
4. Implicative negation where the term expressing it contextually conveys another positive phenomenon that is its conveyed-object upon negating its object of negation
   སྐབས་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་འཕེན་པའི་མ་ཡིན་དགག་པ།

Illustrations:

1. The existence of the selfless བདག་མེད་པ་ཡོད་པ་ལྟ་བུ།
2. Fat Devadatta not eating food in the day ལྷས་བྱིན་ཚོན་པོ་ཉིན་པར་ཟས་མི་ཟ་བ་ལྟ་བུ།
3. Fat Devadatta not eating food in the day not being emaciated
   ལྷས་བྱིན་ཚོན་པོ་ཉིན་པར་ཟས་མི་ཟ་བ་རིད་པ་མ་ཡིན་པ་ཡོད་པ་ལྟ་བུ།
4. Someone not being of the royal caste when they are definitely either of the royal or Brahmin caste and the difference has not been ascertained
   སྐྱེས་བུ་གཅིག་རྒྱལ་རིགས་དང་། བྲམ་ཟེའི་རིགས་གང་རུང་དུ་ངེས་ཤིང་། ཁྱད་པར་མ་ངེས་པའི་ཚེ། སྐྱེས་བུ་རྒྱལ་རིགས་མ་ཡིན་པ་ལྟ་བུ།

2. Specifically characterised object other-exclusions དོན་རང་མཚན་གྱི་གཞན་སེལ།

མ་ཡིན་དགག་གི་གཞན་སེལ་གང་ཞིག །རྟོག་པས་བཏགས་ཙམ་དུ་གྲུབ་པ་བློའི་གཞན་སེལ་གྱི་མཚན་ཉིད།
The definition of an awareness other-exclusion is: That which is

1. An other-exclusion that is an implicative negation; and
2. Established as merely designated by conceptuality.

བུམ་འཛིན་རྟོག་པ་ལ་བུམ་པ་མ་ཡིན་པ་ལས་ལོག་པར་སྣང་བ་ལྟ་བུ།
Illustration: The appearance as the opposite of non-pot to a conceptual consciousness apprehending pot.

1. An other-exclusion that is an implicative negation; and
2. Established from the side of the object’s mode of subsistence without being merely designated by conceptuality.
