Positive phenomena and Negations

རང་འཛིན་རྟོག་པས་དགག་བྱ་དངོས་སུ་བཅད་པའི་ཚུལ་གྱིས་རྟོགས་པར་བྱ་བ། ཡང་ན།
རང་འཛིན་རྟོག་པས་རང་གི་དགག་བྱ་བཅད་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་དངོས་སུ་རྟོགས་པར་བྱ་བ། རང་ཉིད་དགག་པ་ཡིན་པའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of being a negation:

• That realised by its apprehending conception by way of explicitly eliminating an object of negation; or
• That explicitly realised by its apprehending conception by way of eliminating its object of negation.

དགག་པ་དང་གཞན་སེལ་དོན་གཅིག
Negation and Other-exclusion are mutually inclusive.

Divisions:

1. Implicative negation མ་ཡིན་དགག
2. Non-implicative negation མེད་དགག

དགག་པ་དང་དངོས་པོ་གཉིས་ལ་གཞི་མཐུན་ཡོད། དེ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་གཞི་མཐུན་ཡིན་ན་མ་ཡིན་དགག་ཡིན་པས་ཁྱབ།
There exists a common locus between negations and functioning thing; if it is that common locus, it is pervaded by being an implicative negation.

མེད་དགག་ཡིན་ན་རྟག་པ་ཡིན་པས་ཁྱབ།
If it is a non-implicative negation, it is pervaded by being permanent.

སངས་རྒྱས་ཚེ་དཔག་མེད་དང་འཕགས་པ་ཐོགས་མེད་རྣམས་ནི། དགག་པ་མ་ཡིན་ཏེ། སྒྲུབ་པ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར།
Names such as Buddha Amitayus and Arya Asanga are not negations because they are positive phenomena.

ཆོས་ཉིད་ནི་སྟོང་ཉིད་ཡིན་པས། མེད་དགག་ཡིན། སྟོང་ཉིད་རྟོགས་པའི་བློ་ནི། མ་ཡིན་དགག་ཡིན།
Dharmata is a non-implicative negation due to being emptiness. An awareness realising emptiness is an implicative negation.

རང་འཛིན་གྱི་བློས་རང་གི་དགག་བྱ་མ་བཅད་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་རྟོགས་པར་བྱ་བ། སྒྲུབ་པའི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition of positive phenomenon: That which is realised by its apprehending awareness by way of not eliminating its object of negation.
