Divisions by way of nature:

  1. Correct effect sign འབྲས་རྟགས་ཡང་དག
  2. Correct nature sign རང་བཞིན་གྱི་རྟགས་ཡང་དག
  3. Correct non-observation sign མ་དམིགས་པའི་རྟགས་ཡང་དག

Although mutually exclusive wrt to a single basis, wrt different bases the sign - product - can be the:

  1. Correct effect sign in the proof that sprout arises from its causes
  2. Correct nature sign in the proof that sprout is impermanent
  3. Correct non-observation sign in the proof that sprout lacks a self of persons

Divisions by way of predicate:

  1. Correct positive sign སྒྲུབ་རྟགས་ཡང་དག
    pervasively includes correct signs of result and nature
  2. Correct negation sign དགག་རྟགས་ཡང་དག
    mutually inclusive with correct non-observation sign

Those two in the proof of that are mutually exclusive; but "product" is both the:

  1. Correct positive sign in the proof that sound is impermanent; and
  2. Correct negation sign in the proof that sound is not permanent.
