Remainder
This usage is subtly different from the previous two; it marks that the sentence is not yet complete in that there is more information coming. It often performs the function of a semicolon. Often, the way to distinguish it is simply that the sentence continues but is not giving a reason etc. for what came before.
Similarly to the Terminating Particles, if affixed to a noun it often implies an Existence Particle (སྒྲུབ་སྒྲ།).
For example:
- “In the east, there is an ocean; while in the west, there is a great mountain.”
ཤར་གྱི་ཕྱོགས་སུ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་སྟེ། དེ་བཞིན་ནུབ་ཕྱོགས་རི་ཆེན་ནོ། - “That is a human; this is a dog.” དེ་ནི་མི་སྟེ། འདི་ནི་ཁྱི།
Up a level: Continuative Particles
