Unconnected with an agent

བྱེད་པ་པོ་གཞན་དང་དངོས་སུ་མ་འབྲེལ་བའི་བྱ་བ་སྟོན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་སྒྲ། བྱེད་མེད་ལས་ཚིག་གི་མཚན་ཉིད།
Definition: A sound indicating an activity that is not directly connected with a separate agent.

Mutually inclusive with verbs where agent and object are not different
Direct opposite of verbs connected with an agent / where agent and object are different

What this definition eliminates: (བསལ་བྱ།)

1. No agent བྱེད་པ་པོ་མེད་པ།
   e.g. Rain fell ཆར་པ་བབས།
2. No separate agent བྱེད་པ་པོ་གཞན་མེད་པ།
   e.g. Tashi goes to school བཀྲ་ཤིས་སློབ་གྲྭ་ལ་འགྲོ།
3. No direct separate agent བྱེད་པ་པོ་གཞན་དངོས་སུ་མེད་པ།
   e.g. The potter's wheel turns རྫ་མཁན་གྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་འཁོར།

བྱེད་པ་པོ་གཞན་དང་འབྲེལ་བ་ཡོད་པ་དངོས་སུ་མི་སྣང་བའི་བྱ་བ་སྟོན་བྱེད་ཀྱི་སྒྲ། དེའི་གོ་དོན།
Understood meaning: A sound indicating an activity where the existence of a connection to a separate agent does not directly appear.

Illustration:

• The wheel turns, having been turned འཁོར་ལོ་སྐོར་ནས་འཁོར།
• The glass broke, having been broken ཤལ་དམ་བཅག་ནས་ཆག

That is: For resultative verbs, although there is an agent, since cause and effect are not simultaneous, at the time of the result the cause (i.e. agent) does not directly/explicitly appear.

Divisions:

1. Where an agent never appears བྱེད་པ་པོ་གཏན་ནས་མི་སྣང་བ།
   • The sun rises ཉི་མ་ཤར།
   • The sun sets ཉི་མ་ནུབ།
   • Rain falls ཆར་པ་བབས།
2. Where a separate agent does not appear བྱེད་པ་པོ་གཞན་མི་སྣང་བ།
   • Tashi is going to Lhasa བཀྲ་ཤིས་ལྷ་སར་འགྲོ།
   • To lay down མར་ཉལ།
   • To get up ཡར་ལངས།
3. Where a separate agent does not directly appear བྱེད་པ་པོ་གཞན་དངོས་སུ་མི་སྣང་བ།
   • The potter’s wheel turns རྫ་མཁན་གྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་འཁོར།
   • Iron turned to gold ལྕགས་གསེར་དུ་གྱུར།
   • Broke having been broken བཅག་ནས་ཆག
4. Where the agent's striving does not appear བྱེད་པ་པོའི་རྩོལ་བ་མི་སྣང་བ།
   • Tashi saw a form བཀྲ་ཤིས་གཟུགས་མཐོང་།
